These Oven Roasted Roma Tomatoes with Garlic turn out of season store bought tomatoes into a very nice meal folks! They are pretty easy and call for minimal ingredients. Equally as good with, or without, the fresh basil. As a matter of fact, tomatoes are on the shopping list for today:@)
And Ken says it's grilling season...
I've mentioned before that I'm grateful for inspiration any time I can find it:@) I saw these cute seasonal potholders at Dollar Tree (two for $1) and thought the scale of the saying would work as a fun grilling apron for Ken. A few cuts, some ribbon from my craft stash and a little hot glue later... Wa-la, Ken was serving burgers for dinner!
The potholders I started with:
(And I did save the silver colored quilted back, just in case I think of something for that๐
What I did:
- Cut the front design off of the potholder.
- Folded it in half lengthwise with the saying in the center.
- Using the doll as a guide, cut bib shape, then flare sides out to go around the hips.
- Hot glue loop on top, make it big enough to slip over doll's head.
- Add ties, they can be long enough to actually tie behind the doll's back, or short and hot glue a little velcro to each end.
- Finally, border the whole apron with ribbon.
The finished apron:
A word about glue...
The ~fastest~ way to make these little aprons is with hot glue, no question.
The ~neatest~ way to make them, would be with Liquid Stitch. This would also give you more of a chance to bend the ribbon to follow the curves as necessary.
Ken says it's time to get your grilling game face on!!!
~Make something just for fun and have a happy day๐
