Last year I carved a small pumpkin and ended up with 1/2 C of seeds... In keeping with my things don't have to be complicated theme, these Frank's Hot Sauce Pumpkin Seeds were simply baked ~low and slow~ with literally nothing except the hot sauce and salt. They dried out perfectly and were a nice spicy snack:@) Low carb too, in case that's of interest to you. Don't toss those seeds folks!
Frank's Hot Sauce Pumpkin Seeds
For each 1/2 C pumpkin seeds, cleaned, washed and dried with paper towels:
1 Tblsp Frank's Hot Sauce
1/4 tsp table salt
- Spread seeds onto baking sheet in single layer.
- Bake at 275 degrees for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven, stir, make a pile in center of baking sheet.
- Drizzle with hot sauce, mix well. Sprinkle on salt, mix well.
- Return to oven for 30 minutes, stirring twice. At this point I broke up any that were stuck together. Return to oven until dry and crunchy, check every 10 minutes. Mine only took the extra 10.
- Cool completely, store in airtight container.
Enjoy a snack and have a happy day:@)
