Frozen Watermelon Pops

On today's episode of Frugal Living-squeeze that penny til it squeals...
When I was a kid I used to live on watermelon in the summer! Anyone remember the huge long oval ones? The first thing I'd do is cut end off creating a bowl and just scoop the sweet, cold watermelon out with a spoon:@) These days, I mostly only find the round seedless ones and while they are a little more manageable I can still end up with more watermelon than I can eat. Ma suggested making pops out of it and I love that idea for preventing waste. You can pick the molds up anywhere (my Tupperware set was $1 at a thrift store), a few spins in a food processor and a few hours in the freezer... Wa-la!

These are a nice cold all natural snack on a hot day...
But if you'd like, you can add a little sugar or your favorite sweetener and turn them into a sweeter treat-
you know your crowd:@)

Eat well and have a happy day:@)

  4. I had those when my kids were growing up and made them! Lots of fun...very messy for little boys! Happy weekend! Love your quote today too!

  5. Oh so refreshing Lynn! I've been eyeing those personal watermelons at the grocery store. Happy Weekend ♥

  6. What a great idea and it reminds me of when we were little and my mom would make us ice pops!
