1/4 C butter, softened
4oz cream cheese, softened
1 C peanut butter, smooth or chunky
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 C powdered sugar or up to 2 C if needed
1/2 C mini chocolate chips-I didn't add these
chocolate jimmies/sprinkles or mini chocolate chips or cocoa powder for outside of football
white chocolate or frosting for laces
serve with pretzels, graham crackers, animal crackers, dare I say... celery-really Lynn???
serve with pretzels, graham crackers, animal crackers, dare I say... celery-really Lynn???
- Cream butter, cream cheese and peanut butter.
- Mix in vanilla.
- Add powdered sugar 1/2 C at a time until mixed well. If not thick enough, gradually add the extra 1/2 C powdered sugar but remember it will firm up in the fridge.
- Spoon onto wax paper and shape into a football with fingers. (If you feel it's too soft to shape place in fridge for about 30 minutes.)
- Move wax paper to a serving dish.
- Add sprinkles, pressing so they stick. Pipe on laces and chill until ready to serve.
Notes:
- I only made a half batch, that gave me a generous 6" football.
- It was stiff enough (with no additional sugar) for me to simply shape in my hands and place on the plate. I didn't use wax paper.
- Plan on at least one full jar of jimmies, more for the full size recipe. Hold your hand against the side of the football and gently keep pressing them into the sides and top. You'll be able to pick up some that fall and re-apply, just "sweep" the rest under the football:@)
- The laces are going to be sticky and try to lift up the jimmies, I used a knife to try to "cut" the laces off the piping bag.

You'd think that as much as I like peanut butter I'd have heard of peanut butter dip, but you've hit me with something totally new. Now all that's left is to try it.
