Basket-Weave Knit Dishcloth with Crochet Border

I wanted to try knitting again and found this simple Basket-Weave Dishcloth pattern not only fun, but it was very rewarding to see the pattern start to come together in no time at all!

I used cotton yarn, #10 needles, cast on 28 stitches as suggested and it ended up about 7"x6". I found that size more fitting for a pot holder so added a single crochet border then one round of double crochet. I'll use 36 stitches the next time.
The pattern can be found HERE. I used the speckled Bernat "Holly Jolly Prints" for the basket weave and Sugar and Cream "Pine" for the border. It's never too early to practice for Christmas gifts:@)

Have a happy day!

  8. I wish I could knit. My MIL did the most wonderful things. I do know how to crochet (at least I did a long time ago.) I would love to make pretties like that.
