Bacon Jalapeno Cheese Ball

If there's a munchie I'm truly fond of, it's dips. So this week for my PIGskin Challenge I whipped one up. I'm sure purists would say *while shaking head and making a tisk-tisk sound* Lynn, there's a big difference between a dip and a cheese ball... but in my mind it's all the same:@) And it's all good! Instead of shaping this Bacon Jalapeno Cheese Ball, I spooned it into a serving bowl.
Add a pretty orange and green ribbon for a pop of seasonal color,
Happy October Everyone!
This is a tasty treat assuming you love bacon! It is better if it has a chance to sit in the fridge overnight so the flavors can mingle, and it would be much easier to roll into a ball after a good long chill too.

Bacon Jalapeno Cheese Ball
(2) 8oz bricks of cream cheese, room temp
1/2 C mayonnaise-*ooops
1/3 C grated Parmesan cheese
10 slices bacon, cooked crisp, drained and crumbled
1 large jalapeno, cleaned and chopped fine
-Mix all, chill well in plastic wrap, then shape into a ball and serve with crackers and veggies.

Full disclosure: *I forgot to add the mayonnaise... I didn't miss it and the leftovers were great on a bagel! Other dips that are amazing on a bagel for brunch or tailgating: Dried Beef Dip and Pimento Cheese.
I made half of the recipe above and it came to about 1 1/4 C.

Have a happy day:@)

  1. Don't you love it when you forget an ingredient and it turns out great anyways.
Makes me wonder why I would have needed it in the first place.

    1. I made a dip so similarly to this one with bacon and jalapeno. Everyone went crazy for it. We ate it twice it was so good. I love your beautiful dish with the fun ribbon. It makes such a great presentation.

  5. Sounds good, but I'd probably eat half the bacon while crumbling it. Love the stuff!

  8. Yummy sounding dip, Lynn! I don't think I'd miss the mayo either. I bought 2 lbs of bacon on sale at 4.79 each. Yikes!!

  9. Looks good. I'd say anything with bacon in it is usually good!

  10. Another great football nibbler! Who needs the mayo anyway :) So how does Earl feel about the possible pig/bacon shortage?

  11. I just heard the predicted bacon shortage is greatly overstated. Whew!! This looks delicious. Wish I had some for tonight's Bear's game.

    Best,

  12. So much easier to dip than a cheese ball : ) Dips like this are definately my weakness.

  13. I'm a dip girl through and through. My all time most favorite dip is just plain old Lipton Onion Soup and full fat sour cream. Naturally this bowl of dip greatness grabbed my attention. Good recipe!

  16. I think you might not even need the crackers. I suspect it would be yummy on a spoon.

    Blush.
