Very Cherry Pound Cake -1lb Bread Machine Recipe

I've recently begun making pound cakes in my mini Zo bread maker, and I have to say it works very well. I decided to add some candied cherries recently for a festive holiday Very Cherry Pound Cake and love the pretty look! Are these true pound cakes by definition? No, but they are mighty tasty:@) They are also mixed right in the vessel for minimal clean-up, gotta like that too...

I love how the sun makes the cherries look like stained glass:@)
Please don't let the 'sifted' in the ingredient list below deter you folks...
I simply pour the flour and baking powder into a mesh colander and shake it through-done!

Very Cherry Pound Cake-adapted from Bread Machine Diva
for 1 lb:
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 C milk-I used half and half
2/3 stick butter, melted, just estimate
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 tsp almond extract-can use up to 1 tsp if you're ~really~ into almond flavor
2/3 C sugar
1 1/3 C A/P flour, sifted
2 tsp baking powder, sifted
candied cherries cut in half, approximately 3/4-1 C
  1. Add all, except cherries, to bread machine in order given.
  2. Choose cake setting, let er' rip.
  3. At the fruit and nut beep, give batter a quick stir with spatula to make sure nothing is stuck to bottom of pan.
  4. Add cherries. Add some and gently push down into batter a bit, let the rest lay on top of the batter.
Have a sticky sweet happy day:@)
