I made some fun Pink Lemonade Marshmallow Popcorn Balls for Valentine's Day this year. Believe it or not, Kool-Aid added the big punch of flavor and pretty color! These popcorn balls are very Lemony:@) I'm guessing you could easily tame them a bit by adding some extra powdered sugar, up to a tablespoon-you know your crowd... My small batch makes approximately six 2 1/2" popcorn balls, a good amount for a smaller family, recipe easily doubled.
I used cellophane treat bags and cut the closed end off,
placed the popcorn ball in the center, twisted the sides and tied the ends with curling ribbon.
My bold punch of flavor:
Pink Lemonade (or any Kool-Aid flavor) Popcorn Balls
5 generous C popcorn-I used air popped
15 regular size marshmallows
1 1/2 Tblsp butter
1 pack pink lemonade Kool Aid
*optional-extra powdered sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla
extra soft butter for hands
- Melt marshmallows, butter and Kool Aid in large bowl in microwave. Aim for 30 second increments until marshmallows can be stirred smooth.
- Add popcorn, mix well (I did give it a minute or two to cool off a bit and just used buttered hands. (***Disclaimer: Please do NOT allow children to do that, adults only please!).
- Form into six balls, allow to cool completely. Wrap if desired.
- Store in airtight container until serving.
Have a sticky sweet happy day:@)
So pretty Lynn!! What a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea, Lynn! I’m going to have to try these. Yum! ❤️
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming idea!! So festive with the old-fashioned twist and curly ribbons, I feel I'm a teenager again, just looking at them. Our Marketing for the holiday is done, but I'll bet a tiny sprink of this Strawberry/Watermelon Crystal Light powder would suffice to make a few. We'll be four for tea (Snow Willing) and I'm thinking of trying a batch right now, just for practice. Stay well and warm!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! They are so pretty wrapped with ribbons too :)
