8/4/18 Update: I'll try to address the question about how to make this without a breadmaker by adding a link to the Fleischmann's site HERE.
I haven't tried it, but hope this helps:@)
Egg Bread with Italian Herbs and Onion
1/2 cup milk-I used Half and Half
1 large egg
1 tablespoon butter, softened
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour-Bread flour if you have it, I use unbleached A/P flour and usually sub a little whole wheat too
1 tablespoon sugar
1-1/2 tsp yeast-I like to use 1 tsp regular and 1/2 tsp rapid rise, although this loaf really puffed up high...
2 tsp Italian Seasoning, the dry herbs you buy in the spice isle-use 2 hearty tsp
1 Tblsp dried onion flakes
- Add everything to bread machine, choose soft setting, let 'er rip.
- Watch while mixing, it might need a little more water. Aim for a smooth soft ball of dough.
Eat well and have a happy day:@)
The recipe sound good. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteItalian seasoning...italian dressing packet? This sounds great must try it
ReplyDeleteHello, just the dry herbs you get in a jar, not the salad dressing packet. Thanks, I'll clarify that in the recipe:@)
DeleteI love the sound of this bread!
ReplyDeleteThe bread sounds delicious! Lynn, do you have any idea of how long the kneading should be for those of us without breadmakers? And how long the first rise should be? And about what size bread pan should be used? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm not an experienced breadmaker.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, I haven't tried it without a breadmaker but added a link to Fleischmann's in the post. I hope that helps:@)
ReplyDeleteI have to dust off my bread machine for this one! Looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThe bread sounds heavenly, Lynn, and the addition of the herbs and dried onion would be perfect for a pasta meal. Thanks for the link to the Fleischmann's site, since I gave my bread machine away ( dummy me!).
ReplyDeleteI'm ready for fall weather, football, pasta and bread! Thank goodness I don't have a bread machine, sounds delicious!
