Superb Rye Bread -Bread Machine Recipe

I've made a one pound loaf of this Superb Rye Bread in my bread machine several times now and do recommend the recipe. It's a nice addition to dinner (slathered with butter of course:@) and leftovers toast well for breakfast (um... slathered with butter of course...). If you're a big fan of caraway seeds, don't hesitate to add more. This is a nice hearty loaf of bread and in keeping things real, yes bread machines do leave that hole in the center of the bottom from the paddle. ~But~ it's that little paddle that does all the work:@)
Tip: Store flours you don't use often in the refrigerator or freezer, they'll stay fresh longer.
You can click the link to find the recipe for a larger loaf of bread.

  3. As a matter of fact, I do have rye flour in my freezer, Lynn. Your bread sounds great! I'll need to make some, but adapt it without a bread machine.

  4. Ooh, there's nothing better than a freshly baked loaf of bread! I'd smear butter on a warm slice and then go back for seconds!

  5. I'd love a ham sandwich with your bread! This sounds wonderful, Lynn. I rarely use my bread machine for baking, just the kneading and first proof. I do love making bread :)
