Apricot Horseradish Cream Cheese Cracker Dip

I first started making this tasty treat back in the 1980's and have no idea how long it's been around or if it has a catchier name but... My hand written recipe calls this Cracker Dip and it's perfect if you're looking for a great last minute snack for the Super Bowl:@) The apricot jam is sweet, horseradish zippy, mustard tangy and it's all mellowed by the cream cheese. Don't get too hung up on the jams, use what you have, all apricot, all peach or half of the gold jam can be subbed with strawberry.
This ~Super Bowl Party~ size recipe is easily cut in half or even a quarter (which is what I did).
Leftovers are great on a bagel.
There's a similar diabetic version HERE.

Cracker Dip
8 oz apricot jam
8 oz peach jam
1/2 C horseradish
3 tsp ground mustard
1 tsp black pepper
2 (8 oz) blocks cream cheese
crackers for serving
~Mix first five ingredients, place cream cheese in small bowl, pour mixture over cream cheese, serve with crackers.

Here's to great snacks and a fun game:@)

  1. What a great way to make your own zippy jam! I have had this with pepper jelly, but I bet this is so much better! A true retro favorite!

  2. This is literally my dream appetizer, I've got a baked version coming up on the blog, but I like it this way, too, it's almost dangerously easy, I'd devour the whole thing!

  5. I'll bet the horseradish does add some zip! I've had jalapeƱo pepper jelly on top of cream cheese, but your version sounds tastier, Lynn!

  7. One of the first recipes I ever made from your blog when I first started following you was a dip and I remember it was delicious. This one looks really good too and I'm looking forward to trying it.
