I wanted to use up some M&M's, had leftover Rice Krispies in the cabinet, and since everything tastes great with a basic chocolate chip dough... I whipped up some Krispie Mmmm's Cookies. Simply make your favorite dough recipe (Ghirardelli for us), and add up to three cups of add-ins. My ratio was closer to 1 C candy, 2 C cereal. The cereal made the cookies a little lighter and the candy gave them some color and chocolaty goodness. Yep, these cookies didn't last long folks:@)
Recipe easily cut in half.
1 C butter, softened
3/4 C brown sugar
1/2-3/4 C sugar-I cut back a bit on sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 1/4 C A/P flour
Up to 3 C add ins-I used 1 C M&M's, approximately 2 C Rice Krispy Cereal
- Cream butter and sugars.
- Mix in eggs and vanilla.
- Mix in salt, baking soda and flour.
- Fold in candy and cereal with spoon or spatula.
- Drop by tablespoon on to cookies sheets, 2" apart. Flatten a little if desired (I used a cookie scoop and did not flatten mine, they stayed pretty round).
- Bake at 375 degrees 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let sit on sheet for a couple minutes, remove to rack to cool completely.
Enjoy a cookie and have a happy day:@)
