Birthday Pie #2

Apple pie is a favorite around here and my son likes it when I make it for his B-Day. I wanted to share this super easy idea for decorating a Birthday Pie. I've always loved these little candles and think I've even seen them at the Dollar Store. I picked these up on the clearance isle at Walmart for $1.50. While they're cute, I don't think I'd try lighting them... Apple pie a la mode=good, apple pie a la wax=not so much:@)
When it's your birthday you get to choose the dessert:@)
Have a happy day!

  3. What a fun set of candles. I have seen those too, but haven't purchased any. Seeing them on the pie, I will have to grab some. I love fun candles - anything that makes a birthday special. We usually have a sparkler in addition to the candles. Probably not the best - apple pie ala sparkler dust - but we do it anyway!

  20. We have these. I cut the top of the wick off and we use them over and over, but don't light them! We do the same thing with our # candles.

  21. I did light a set of these candles on my daughter's birthday cheesecake (family tradition, that cheesecake...) Yes. There were globs of wax. But the candles out-cuted the mess and we just scraped wax. Love the fun you send along with your recipes.
