I wasn't thrilled with the bow and am pleased to report it was just tied on and not original to the wreath, so it's history. Next I gave it a much needed bath, which was easy because it's plastic... Then added this fun glittered Merry Christmas sign from Walmart.
The sparkly gold really brightens it up and makes it pretty!
I'm very happy with this small change and it's a fun holiday greeting for everyone.

ReplyDeletei really like it! return of the plastic - very cool. :)
ReplyDeleteSo kewl !!!! I think if you are going to have artificial flowers you should let everyone KNOW they are artificial - I love the plastics from my teen years. Great makeover too.
ReplyDeleteA thing of beauty!
ReplyDeleteNow it's RETROFABULOUS!
ReplyDeleteGreat re-do & very GREEN....ecologically as well as physically. *wink*
ReplyDeleteI looked for a plastic Santa Claus face from my childhood but they are all too expensive. Retro is very "in" now...Darn it!!
I can't even think about Xmas decor after the day of, but you will be all set for next year! $.25 is quite a bargain!

This is great and love the 1960's inspiration. This is the type of wreath I need the deer come right up to my front door and have taken a nibble out of the fresh wreath hanging on the door.
ReplyDeleteGosh, what a deal, Lynn! I love the retro look and it looks much snazzier with the glittery sign. What a fun, vintage find. xo
ReplyDeleteI have a Merry Christmas sign just like yours only in RED....:)
ReplyDeleteIsn't if funny how just a little bit of work can make a huge difference! sandie

ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteI so remember these kinds of wreaths...guess that ages me! Oh, oh!!
ReplyDeletePS...love the pig header. My daughter [grown and given me two grandsons] collects pigs, so they remind me of her. That doesn't sound good...much better in my head. LOL
Lynn, Your wreath is SO cute! Love the addition of the glittery & nostalgic Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I do remember those wreaths from the 60's! Love it's makeover!
