Cute Snowman-Crochet Project

Every year I bring my snowmen out in January, they are cheerful and add a bit of fun to winter. As soon as I started playing with crocheting I knew I wanted to make one for my collection and I think he turned out pretty darn cute! He's about 5" tall and very loosely based upon this pattern HERE. I say very loosely because of my apparent inability to follow directions and I used cotton yarn instead of thread.

I used a white chenille pipe cleaner for his nose and just ran an orange highlighter over it. The heart sequin will be changed out for a button as soon as I get to a craft store, it's a wink and nod to Valentine's Day. While I did have small black buttons I could have used for eyes, the googly eyes just make me smile:@) This was a fun little project that even a novice like me could complete in a few hours. I'll look around the yard for a couple small twigs that might work as arms, that could be fun too.
I got this little guy done just in time for a dusting of real snow!

Have a happy day:@)

  3. He's wonderful! Thanks for the link to the free pattern. I don't crochet but my mother does... I think she just might want to make a little giftie for her favorite daughter... after that maybe she can make one for me!! :)

  11. Great job, Lynn! I don't think I could do it. Directions like that for me just don't work out too well!
The dusting of snow was nice this morning, and so easy to sweep away. And now it's gone.

  12. So cute! I've only crocheted things that are flat, like dishcloths or scarves, because I'm really not so good at following directions either. I'd love some real snow too. :)
