Well folks, it's been ugly but my family and friends made it through and I'm thankful to say with minimal damage (all things considered) and no injuries! The worst that happened was my son's car was crushed and totaled by an old oak tree, luckily it was parked at the time! Electricity and internet were out for days but have just been restored and we're beginning to clean up and move forward North of Philly.
My concerns and thoughts are with everyone in New Jersey, New York and further north,
what horrible, horrible devastation.
I can truly say I hope and pray this was a once in a lifetime storm!
I'll be making the rounds to see what you've all been up to
and I'd like to thank everyone for your concerns for me and Earl-we are ok:@)

ReplyDeleteglad to hear you made it thru. a couple of blogging pals in nj are okay but running really low on gasoline for fuel and generators. so terrible.
Thank God the car was parked. So glad to hear you and your family are well. What a devastating storm she was. NJ and NY are a mess.
ReplyDeleteSo good you're out of the dark? A terrible time for our neighbors in the Northeast. My thoughts and prayers are with all. So happy to hear you and yours are safe.

So glad to hear from you Lynn! We had minimal damage, yet half my next door neighbor's roof flew all over the place! Stores are starting to open and people are lining up with gas cans at the gas stations. We are all safe and only had 12 hours of power outage. My Jersey shore is gone :o(.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness you are alright, Lynn...and your family. I agree, this was enough for a lifetime. Well said.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
So glad to hear you are okay Lynn. We've been through many storms and didn't get power back once for 37 days. You can endure anything if you are okay and everything else can be replaced.
ReplyDeleteNice to have you back on line.
Sam
Lynn~ SO glad you & your family (and Earl :) weathered the storm! It was frightening to watch the coverage and see the havoc Sandy wreaked. I had my car crushed by a tree during Hurricane Hugo~ kind of a sick feeling but minor in the scheme of things. Happy Cooking and refilling your fridge and freezer :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are okay, Lynn. Sorry about your son's car, but glad that he wasn't in it at the time. I like your pic of Earl and the leaves!
ReplyDeleteGlad you and yours are ok, Lynn. Lots of bloggers have been wondering how you fared!
ReplyDeleteAlso good news that your power is restored and your son's car was parked, and that you're back online!
Yay! Glad you made it without much trouble. This thing has been so scary, and I too am keeping my eye out for blog friends as they check in from the storm hit areas. What horrible destruction. It hurts my heart.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you are okay.
ReplyDeleteso glad to hear you & your family are ok. thinking about so many. big big hugs. (:
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear all is well with you. I'm still reeling from the news that is coming out of the northeast. Hurricanes this time of year are uncommon enough, but when one comes along that is so devastating, it's the worst.
ReplyDeleteMan this has been a really bad one - glad you are getting all you things taken care of - we just had win - but I sure do know there is a lot more devastation out there. sandie
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear all is well with you! I've been watching for a post!!
ReplyDeleteI am so very thankful that all of you are OK!! What a shame about your son's car but it could have been much worse. Earl you were smart to stay inside for this storm! Hugs, Linda

ReplyDeleteso sorry your son's car was damaged..
sending you good thoughts.
Hi Lynn, so happy to hear your son is fine but sorry about his car. I have only intermittent cell phone service. Still no power, water or heat and it's getting cold. So much destruction here! Trees haven't even been cleared yet and wires everywhere. They are saying maybe another week!! I'm checking in with my blog friends whenever I can. Enjoy the heat and light! Linda
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your sons car...but am really glad to hear you are good, Lynn!!!
ReplyDeleteWe lost our power due to high winds here in Michigan...but nothing compared to what you experienced!!
God Bless You.
Debbie

Lynn, so glad you made it through safely, but I'm sorry about your son's car. I've had a limb fall on my hood before in a storm, and it is no fun. I pray that he is able to get his car situation worked out rapidly.
ReplyDeleteGLad to hear from you and Earl.
XO,
Sheila
I am so happy to know that you, Earl and the kids are fine. It is a bummer about your son's car, but all things considered, that's not a tragedy. Take good care and enjoy your weekend. You deserve it!
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
So happy to hear that all is well. Cars will come and go, people don't. We learned that when one of our trees fell on a car during a tornado years ago. During the same storm a third grade classmate of my daughter was killed, so sad. Hope all goes well with the recovery!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you and your family are okay, Lynn! Yes, so devastating just a little further north. Happy Earl is back on line :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you all are OK. Sorry about the car :(
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to hear from you and know you're okay. I'm sorry about your son's car, but thankfully, like you said, it was parked and he is okay. We will continue our prayers for all the loss and devastation of those who are suffering.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are OK, Lynn! I'm sorry to hera about you son's car but happy he wasn't in it!
ReplyDeleteThe damage around here has been horrendous to see, but many are helping out those in need.
Wow! Bless your heart! Glad you are okay! Much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving season, isn't there?
