Savory Herbs de Provence Popcorn

Hey everyone! Ever think about adding fresh garlic to popcorn? How about the lavender buds in Herbs de Provence... No? Well, I'm here to tell ya, you might just want to think about it:@) This grown-up popcorn is full of big flavors and a wonderful treat, some even say it's great with a glass of wine.
I started with a recipe from Jolly Time and did cut back quite a bit, my measurements are in italics.
I'm sure it's immensely flavorful as written. This is a fun popcorn folks!

Savory Herbs de Provence Popcorn
8 C popped corn-a little over 4 cups air popped
1/4 C butter-a heaping Tblsp
2 cloves garlic minced-I grated 1/2 of a clove with the microplane
2 Tblsp Herbs de Provence-1 tsp (2 Tblsp is a lot folks)
I added a big pinch of kosher salt
  • Melt butter in small pan, stir in garlic and cook 1 minute (I added the butter and garlic to a ramekin and used the microwave for a few seconds until melted). Stir in spices and pour over popcorn. Serve immediately.
Earl says...
Ooh la la, you melt the butter, I'll get the cork screw!

Have a happy day:@)

I'm joining:
Foodie Friday

  1. I would love to visit you and try this garlic popcorn. We do love air popped popcorn at our house and this is a new twist. Did you say "lavender buds"? Hmmm, I will think about it.

  2. I have never made a flavored popcorn...I think I may be missing out...

  3. This sounds like a great grown-up popcorn, thanks for the receipe. I have been making popcorn the old-fashioned way in a skillet and shaking it. It tastes so much better to me than microwave. Have you tried cocoanut oil yet???It was always so bad for us and now the docs say it has a lot of good health benefits!!!Popcorn is fabulous popped in 2T cocoanut oil (1/2 cup popcorn).

  4. Lynn, Popcorn is my most favorite food! And this looks so yummy! I agree, a little flavor goes a long way! Thanks for the tip.
    Happy Mother's Day!

  5. We have popcorn at least 3 times a week... so fun to have some new ways to serve it.

  6. I love popcorn. Never have tried using this. Thanks for the inspiration. happy Mother's day.

  7. Wow, Lynn, that is some difference from 2 T to 1 tsp with the herbs! I love light popcorn and chocolate popcorn but have never tried a savory one. Sounds good. xo

    1. Yea, I think 2 Tblsp is extremely intense... Had to cut back for myself.

  8. hahhhhaaaa, you and Earl just crack me up.

I can't wait to try this recipe. We love popcorn with a passion and with a glass of wine.....well, baby.....bring it on.

  9. Ok Lynn...Earl has just gone over the deep end! You'll need to be calling him Francois! Great appetizer for a starter with some nice wine!

  10. I could go for a bowl full of this!

  11. That Earl...he's always ready for a party,isn't he??!!

  12. Oh my gosh Sweetie...
Not only does it look good, but I can smell it clear out here in Phoenix. Does it ever smell heavenly. I am going to have to give it a try.

I love it that it is a grown up desert. Maybe the grands won't like it, and we get a better share. Party on....

Have a glorious weekend. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  13. This will be perfect for movie night. I can't wait to try this on the Silver Fox. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary

  14. I would try it! I'm a very adventurous popcorn eater. I like to try different recipes with it, and this flavor appeals to me.

  15. Merci beaucoup for suggesting we flavor our with herbs de Provence. Very clever and I am positive delicious too. Sounds like an Ina idea.

  16. Definitely want to try this, we'd love the flavor. We recently had truffle butter popcorn and loved it so this savory recipe sounds right up our alley.

  17. I do love popcorn and think this savory version would be yummy with a glass of wine.

  18. I have never tried garlic on popcorn but anything that 'carries' garlic is alright with me!

Have a very Happy Mother's Day my friend! xo

  19. Now this looks like something we could try tonight with a glass of wine!!
Earl looks very handsome, I must say....there is just something about a man with a mustache....ooolala.
