Add a pretty orange and green ribbon for a pop of seasonal color,
Happy October Everyone!
This is a tasty treat assuming you love bacon! It is better if it has a chance to sit in the fridge overnight so the flavors can mingle, and it would be much easier to roll into a ball after a good long chill too. Happy October Everyone!
Bacon Jalapeno Cheese Ball
(2) 8oz bricks of cream cheese, room temp
1/2 C mayonnaise-*ooops
1/3 C grated Parmesan cheese
10 slices bacon, cooked crisp, drained and crumbled
1 large jalapeno, cleaned and chopped fine
-Mix all, chill well in plastic wrap, then shape into a ball and serve with crackers and veggies.
Full disclosure: *I forgot to add the mayonnaise... I didn't miss it and the leftovers were great on a bagel! Other dips that are amazing on a bagel for brunch or tailgating: Dried Beef Dip and Pimento Cheese.
I made half of the recipe above and it came to about 1 1/4 C.

Bacon makes everything better.

Don't you love it when you forget an ingredient and it turns out great anyways.
ReplyDeleteMakes me wonder why I would have needed it in the first place.
I made a dip so similarly to this one with bacon and jalapeno. Everyone went crazy for it. We ate it twice it was so good. I love your beautiful dish with the fun ribbon. It makes such a great presentation.
DeleteOh yum! I have to make this. Love your pretty dish!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Can't believe you used bacon - but it looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteI need to plan to make that! Yum!
ReplyDeleteOh yummy in my tummy! I am definitely going to have to make this!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Stephanie
Sounds good, but I'd probably eat half the bacon while crumbling it. Love the stuff!
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds good, Lynn. Like the ribbon around the bowl. xo
ReplyDeleteOh wow... that ribbon soooo dresses up the dish. Perfect look for an autumn table setting!
ReplyDeleteYummy sounding dip, Lynn! I don't think I'd miss the mayo either. I bought 2 lbs of bacon on sale at 4.79 each. Yikes!!
ReplyDeleteLooks good. I'd say anything with bacon in it is usually good!
ReplyDeleteAnother great football nibbler! Who needs the mayo anyway :) So how does Earl feel about the possible pig/bacon shortage?
ReplyDeleteI just heard the predicted bacon shortage is greatly overstated. Whew!! This looks delicious. Wish I had some for tonight's Bear's game.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
So much easier to dip than a cheese ball : ) Dips like this are definately my weakness.
ReplyDeleteI'm a dip girl through and through. My all time most favorite dip is just plain old Lipton Onion Soup and full fat sour cream. Naturally this bowl of dip greatness grabbed my attention. Good recipe!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty photo!!! And an excellent dip (we DO love bacon :)).
ReplyDeleteshhhhh....don't mention it to Earl but.....we LUV anything with bacon...:)
ReplyDeleteI think you might not even need the crackers. I suspect it would be yummy on a spoon.
ReplyDeleteBlush.
Lynn,
ReplyDeleteYou know that I love my Jalapeno's and your Bacon Jalapeno Cheese ball will be perfect for game day, can't wait! Enjoy your weekend and thank you so much for sharing with Full Plate Thursday.
Come Back Soon!

This looks fantastic. I'll be trying this out this weekend with or without the mayonnaise!
