- I knew I wanted multi-colors in each slice so I ran my stripes the opposite way than the lady did in the video.
- The stripes of color were added using Wilton disposable icing bags.
- I did trim the edges all the way around the cake-the Baker's treat!
- While her whipped cream filling sounded great I planned to serve this the next day so I opted for a more solid Cream Cheese Filling: 4oz cream cheese, 1 Tblsp butter (add 2 Tblsp if you'd like), 1/2 tsp vanilla and 1/2 C powdered sugar mixed well.
- This project is best made in a cooler, temperature controlled environment... Windows open on a humid July day in Philadelphia=Eggs deflating (read: melting) fairly quickly.
Bake something fun and have a happy day:@)

Wow! I love this!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks Beautiful!!! What a great idea!
ReplyDeletevery festive! almost looks like a vegas playing chip. :)
ReplyDeleteHow fun is that. Looks great and sounds easy but would be a real attention getter on a dessert plate.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a party dessert for real! xo
ReplyDeleteWow, that is so fun! I love cream cheese filling, so I'd opt for that, too. Happy Sunday, Lynn!
ReplyDeleteOh Lynn...this is just DELIGHTFUL....what a FUN IDEA!!! I've never seen nor heard nor eaten one, but I surely would love to try it. I think your colors are just awesome! The pink & green would be perfect for a Delta Zeta party. Two shades of green with some white would be cute for St. Patrick's Day.
ReplyDeleteRed, pink & white for Valentines Day!
Somehow I don't think the Cleveland Browns colors of orange & brown would be too pretty though. Bleahh!
GREAT JOB, Honey! I can't wait to see what color combo you come up with next.
Wow - that is the coolest cake!! How fun.
ReplyDeleteKids would love this cake.
ReplyDeleteMerle..............

I can't get over how pretty, colourful and perfect this cake is! I've made cake rolls before, but they've never turned out this well. I'd be thrilled if you'd come on over to Pink Recipe Box and link up at Creative Wednesdays: http://pinkrecipebox.com/creative-wednesdays-with-pink-recipe-box-2/
ReplyDeleteHI Lynn Just discovered you blog and although my blog is to do with nature, I could not resist seeing more of your delights, so I joined. I really laughed out loud when I saw that wonderful coloured roll and all the ways you could change it for different events. Fabulous. Your recipes look great, I have had a quick peep at some of the previous ones. Hope you can have a peep into my blog when you are not knee deep in cooking or baking. Margaret
ReplyDeleteThat is just incredibly ccol to me! I can only imagine how much kids would get a kick out of it. Or... wouldn't it be neat for a circus themed party or something like that? My mind is kind of racing...
ReplyDeleteWell that looks fun. Must say that your colors are much more summery to me than hers were. I like them better. And I do like the rainbow effect in each piece.
ReplyDeleteVery awesome effect! I have tried a roll a few times and mine always cracks or breaks, yours in beautiful!
