The original price was $24 but one ball was missing so the set was marked half price "as is". Since Christmas items were now marked down 60% I asked if I could please get 60% off instead of 50%... The girl said no... I tried to explain I wasn't asking for anything off of the "as is" price, just 60% off the original price and she still shook her head.
So I left the ornaments, but kept thinking about them... Decided if they were still there the next day I'd talk to the Manager. Imagine my surprise when not only were the ornaments there-they were marked down to $5.20!!! The same girl I talked to yesterday rang me out, her eyes almost popped out of her head when she saw the price, the only thing I said (with a big smile) as I collected my bag was "have a great day!".
Merry Christmas to me indeed!
Did you find anything fun on clearance?

ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, I saw those ornaments but they were not $5!! They are really great and remind me of some my parents had when I was a kid. Don't know what ever happened to them--I'll have to dig some more in their basement! So glad you were able to check out with the same girl ... hehehe ... I guess I've had enough shopping lately to turn me naughty. Good thing I have a whole year to get nice again! Happy New Year and enjoy your new treasure! Linda

ReplyDeleteOh, I like a story with a happy ending. These are beautiful ornaments. Great buy! I didn't go to the after Christmas sales. Just wasn't in the mood. But yesterday when I stopped in the pharmacy that has a large gift department they had all Christmas marked 50% off. I came home with some beautiful burlap stockings that I'll use next year. Already planning what I'll do with them.]
ReplyDeleteMy homegoods didn't have any left by the time I got there. But a scored a box of small ones at Marshalls. Yay
ReplyDeleteI love your bargain ornaments! They remind me of ornaments from my childhood. I admire your patience in waiting until the next day! Good things do come to those who are patient and wait!
