One of my favorite flowers EVER. When I was little, my mom used to have beautiful bushes just draped with them, and I used to love to run through them as a little girl and let them hit my face. Nothing smells any more wonderful as a lilac.
Beautiful! I love lilacs. They remind me of my grandmother's house as a child. We had them at our old house but none at the new house. I can almost smell them in your picture. Have a good day.
There is no better reward for our senses than LILACS...They must have great groves of them in Heaven!!! Lynn these are GORGEOUS!!! Mine are not in bloom YET!!! Big Hugs to you, Donna
I can smell them now! My lilac bush is right outside of my bedroom window. There is green all over it but no flowers yet. Still too cold around here. Susanne :(
Hi Lynn, I am happy that they do not bloom yet here. Because I had to made then a special post and I have so many things to post before. LOL They are such wonderful flowers with scent and color. I love them in every shade. Best greetings, Johanna
Beautiful lilac, Lynn! Mine has not bloomed yet, last year was a non-event as well. But it was so mild and I did not cut it back too much so I am hoping. xo
Oh Lynn, that is my most favorite flower ever...I can smell them now just looking at the gorgeous photos! I had a tree outside my bedroom window growing up and in the spring the sweet smell permeated through my room...yum!
Gorgeous, Lynn! If I had planted lilacs back when I said I would {uhhh...25 years ago}, they would be huge and I'd have vases everywhere! Sniff, sniff!
Me too, Lynn. Me too! Love lilacs. I've been going out and picking a couple every day because they smell so good and they don't last after you pick 'em. Beautiful.
Oh, I'm so jealous! I grew up in an area of the country where lilacs grew abundantly and were really the essence of spring to me. I love where I live now but sadly, lilacs do not like it here :( - your picture are beautiful - I can almost smell them when I close my eyes!
Mine don't even have buds yet! Yours are beautiful! Our azaleas are just starting to bud, I see a little color! How do you have time to post every day!
My boys are grown and on their own and while the day job puts food on the table, it doesn't feed the soul. So this Philly Girl started Pig In Mud. Please join me as I welcome each season and holiday through brief posts focusing on home cooking, baking, crafts and Barbie fun. I hope you find this a happy place that provides inspiration:@) Lynn
Absolutely beautiful. Hopefully there will be a bloom or two left when we get back to Maine. Great photos!
