Chocolate Spritz

Hey everyone! Don't put the cookie press away just yet, let's put that heart shaped plate to use!

Chocolate and Valentine's Day go together like...
Kittens and Cuddles?
Sunday and Sports?
Chips and Dip?
Pork and Potatoes?

Ooops... looks like someone is not amused...
ok, they go together like Hearts and Flowers:@)

I found the over-sized candy heart decorations at Michaels, I've also seen a red/pink/white combo.
They'll be adorable for gingerbread men at Christmas too-yep, I do try to think ahead.

Chocolate Spritz Cookies
1 C butter softened
2/3 C sugar
1 egg, large
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 C A/P flour
1/3 C unsweetened cocoa (of the store brands, I prefer Hershey's-just this reporter's opinion)
1/2 tsp salt
  1. Cream butter/shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla till light and fluffy.
  2. Add dry (I sift mine together) to wet, mix well. This will be a thick dough but kind of sticky. I did the last bit of mixing by hand.
  3. Use cookie press on cool, ungreased, not non-stick, light colored cookie sheets.
  4. Bake at 350 for 5 minutes (or till desired firmness/color, mine take about 10 minutes).
  5. Cool and enjoy!
This is the cookie press I'm currently using, they can be found at Marshall's, TJ Maxx, etc.
Have a happy day:@)

I don't have a cookie press but I think one is needed so these pretty little cookies can be served at my house. I have the heart shaped plate so I'm half way there. Doggies can't have chocolate. Is Earl allowed some?-------Shannon

I love cookie baking. It's the SINGLE kitcheny thing I like to do. I don't, surprisingly, have a cookie press.

Need to rectify that...
