Memorial Day 2011

Hi everyone-I'm happy to be joining Mizz Jenny for Saturday Centus! We can use up to 100 words and the prompt this week is "the legacy of heroes".
The legacy of heroes...

The task at hand couldn't be ignored,
Even though the cost would be high.
Each of them fought for their country,
Some were called upon to die.

Today we bow our heads in gratitude,
For their ultimate sacrifice and sigh.
When asked what's the legacy of heroes,
We simply must remember why.

Happy Memorial Day!

  2. Your poem is lovely. I seriously question the decision of the politicians who took us into Iraq, while the real terrorist who attacked our country, and took so many lives was ignored for so many years. Please read my post.
