Celebrity Cook-Along, The Pioneer Woman!

Hey everyone, welcome to the Celebrity Cook-Along! I invited you to join me in making the
Pioneer Woman's Twice Baked Potatoes or any other PW recipe.

The recipe for the potatoes can be found HERE.
These are some hearty potatoes!
I grew up on what G-Mom-B called Potatoes In The Half Shell, they were basically mashed potatoes added back to the shells and baked till brown. I'd pick the whole thing up and eat it, several of them!
PW version-bacon, sour cream, extra butter and cheese-this little piggy could only eat one.
It was VERY good, but only one.

What I did differently:
I used chives from the garden instead of scallions and I did cut back a touch on the butter.
After 15 mins in the oven I turned the broiler on and finished browning the top.
Did you make them, what did you think?
Did you make something different? Link up and let's see! Older posts are welcome.

I'm having a little give-away this month. This cute candle holder and some other goodies.
Everyone that links up will have two chances and followers that comment will have one chance to win.
Have a happy day!

  1. Woo-hoo, I'm the first one to the party! :o)

I'm thinkin' your potatoes, with my sliders, and Jo's blueberry crumb cake would make a mighty hearty and delicious dinner.

Thanks for hosting such a great party, Lynn.

  2. These sound delicious and yes, chives would be less crunchy than scallions. I wasn't in the party this month...any ideas for next month?

  3. My grandson wanted Pineapple Upside Down Cake at Cracker Barrel and I said I would make PWC's so I could enter your made her potatoes before and they are really decadent.

  4. The potatoes look yummy. I looked up her hot crossed buns, they are amazing! We are leaving on vacation so I didn't have time to make/blog about them, but when we have some down time I will be back to visit all of the wonderful posts in this fun party!! Can't wait to see who you have lined up for the next one.

  5. What a fun thing this is, Lynn! If I cooked, I would join you, but I wanted to stop by and see what YOU cooked. It looks YUMMY! Listen, if they ever start making PW takeout/frozen food, then I will join you, okay? ;-)

Love this idea. It's a lot of fun. And I am a happy follower of your blog!

    Sheila :-)

  6. Hi Lynn, Thanks so much for sponsoring this fun party! Can't wait to see who you choose for next month. I'll tell you though, Ree Drummond has some AWESOME recipes. She cooks good for the Marlboro Man!
    Blessings, Beth

  7. This looks delicious. I really am going to get my act together--hopefully for the next "challenge".

  8. Is this a weekly event. I can't join in this week but if it is continuing, I would be interested.

  9. Hi Lynn, those potatoes sure look good! I like to do my baked potatoes in the oven instead of the microwave because my favorite part is the skin-and it gets good and crispy in the oven! These look so good with the butter and sour cream, and I think browning them under the broiler is definitely part of being a twice baked potato! Thanks for hostessing--can't wait to see who is up next Linda

  10. O, I've made these so good.
This is so much fun, Lynn. You really came up with a great meme. Can't wait to see what celebrity is next.

  11. Oh, these are wonderful! I will have to make them for my kids. Thanks!

  12. This is so much fun! I can't wait to see which celebrity you choose for next month.

  13. Hi Lynn,

Your party is rollin' and all the recipes look great, especially your potatoes. Just know Idahoans everywhere love you! Thanks for hosting.

  14. This was sooo much fun!...I love PW!
And she is a hoot,I love to read her blog, just to look @ MM's behind,NO! I'm kidding, No I ain't.

  15. Time got away from me this week trying to catch up with outdoor chores! Love your chive-topped double-bakers. It's wonderful having chives growing in the garden again!

  16. Whew! I just finished my post for the party! So much fun! I love twice baked potatoes! Thanks for hosting the party! Do Giada next month! I just adore her!

  17. Oh yes, stuffed baked potatoes are filling, but so good!
I make them with all diff kinds of cheese, and yes, I like the top browned too!

  18. I have my own version so I guess it isn't the same as making PW's recipes.
I do love those potatoes though.

  19. I forgot to ask...who is it for May. I like to plan ahead!

  20. Hi Lynn, I have the PW cookbook and it is awesome. I have not made theses potatoes yet. I too use chives from my little garden. I love those chives and I didn't know they would grow back after the winter. Mine are thriving. I didn't know about your PW party. Maybe because I was gone for five days. I would have enjoyed joining in.
Love your giveaway. Sign me up when you have it!
    Hugs, Jeanne

  21. Hi Lynn,
I didn't do baked potatoes. They do look yummy, but I wanted to try PW's Shortbread Cookies. Oh my they are excellent. What a treat. Thanks for having this great party and throw my name in the hat for the giveaway.

  22. Hi Lynn~ Potatoes are my kryptonite, these look delish! I hope you don't mind I linked an older post~

  23. Thanks for hosting such a fun party!! Looking forward to seeing May's choice. I've been so hungry for baked potatoes, I will be giving these a try.

  24. I think your cookoff parties are fun. I'm just a window watcher, but I like reading the posts about the various recipes.

I would try this one. I would probably use chives too since I grow them, and therefore they are feebies.

  25. I hope I can remember to join in your next cook-along parties! There are LOTS of good ideas!

I'm a follower & would LOVE to win that little pink candle holder! It looks like it would match my pink depression glass.

Thanks for gathering these fun participants ...I'm off to visit their blogs right now.

  26. Hi Lynn, This recipe sounds delicious! I didn't know that they are working on putting Ree Drummonds life into a movie. Should be fun! Have a wonderful weekend.
    ♥, Susan

  27. I just found your blog! I am participating in another PW cookbook review, and was told to check yours out. I'm glad I did and I'm a new follower now!

  28. I love restuffed baked potatoes! They are such an easy do-ahead addition to a meal. Yum!

  29. Oh Lynn I love potatoes of any kind this sounds YUMMY!! Hugs and smiles Gloria

  30. Oh what a fun party! I adore the PW & do have her cookbook. I've made several of her recipes, but always have to alter them to be a bit less "fatty" for us. We aren't, after all, working on a ranch from sunup to sundown. LOL!!! I am totally enjoying her novel. How about you?

  31. Woohoo! I got my PW recipe post up! I was running late. This was so fun and your potatoes look yummy!

  32. The party was great! Sorry I messed up my original link ... It never pays to be in a hurry!

Thanks for stopping by!
