Celebrity Cook-Along, The Pioneer Woman!

Hey everyone, welcome to the Celebrity Cook-Along! I invited you to join me in making the
Pioneer Woman's Twice Baked Potatoes or any other PW recipe.

The recipe for the potatoes can be found HERE.
These are some hearty potatoes!
I grew up on what G-Mom-B called Potatoes In The Half Shell, they were basically mashed potatoes added back to the shells and baked till brown. I'd pick the whole thing up and eat it, several of them!
PW version-bacon, sour cream, extra butter and cheese-this little piggy could only eat one.
It was VERY good, but only one.

What I did differently:
I used chives from the garden instead of scallions and I did cut back a touch on the butter.
After 15 mins in the oven I turned the broiler on and finished browning the top.
Did you make them, what did you think?
Did you make something different? Link up and let's see! Older posts are welcome.

I'm having a little give-away this month. This cute candle holder and some other goodies.
Everyone that links up will have two chances and followers that comment will have one chance to win.
Have a happy day!

  1. Woo-hoo, I'm the first one to the party! :o)

I'm thinkin' your potatoes, with my sliders, and Jo's blueberry crumb cake would make a mighty hearty and delicious dinner.

Thanks for hosting such a great party, Lynn.

  2. These sound delicious and yes, chives would be less crunchy than scallions. I wasn't in the party this month...any ideas for next month?

  4. The potatoes look yummy. I looked up her hot crossed buns, they are amazing! We are leaving on vacation so I didn't have time to make/blog about them, but when we have some down time I will be back to visit all of the wonderful posts in this fun party!! Can't wait to see who you have lined up for the next one.

  9. Hi Lynn, those potatoes sure look good! I like to do my baked potatoes in the oven instead of the microwave because my favorite part is the skin-and it gets good and crispy in the oven! These look so good with the butter and sour cream, and I think browning them under the broiler is definitely part of being a twice baked potato! Thanks for hostessing--can't wait to see who is up next Linda

  20. Hi Lynn, I have the PW cookbook and it is awesome. I have not made theses potatoes yet. I too use chives from my little garden. I love those chives and I didn't know they would grow back after the winter. Mine are thriving. I didn't know about your PW party. Maybe because I was gone for five days. I would have enjoyed joining in.
Love your giveaway. Sign me up when you have it!
    Hugs, Jeanne

  24. I think your cookoff parties are fun. I'm just a window watcher, but I like reading the posts about the various recipes.

I would try this one. I would probably use chives too since I grow them, and therefore they are feebies.

I'm a follower & would LOVE to win that little pink candle holder! It looks like it would match my pink depression glass.

  30. Oh what a fun party! I adore the PW & do have her cookbook. I've made several of her recipes, but always have to alter them to be a bit less "fatty" for us. We aren't, after all, working on a ranch from sunup to sundown. LOL!!! I am totally enjoying her novel. How about you?
