Olympic Pasta Salad -Dying Pasta The Ring Colors with Food Coloring

This Olympic Pasta Salad is a very colorful side dish if you're having folks over to watch the summer games. It's easy to put together and only takes a little time to dye the pasta four colors. I would have dyed it five colors, but I don't have black food dye right now. So I opted to use black olives which also give a little wink and nod to the rings:@)

The colors represent the ring logo.

The key to not having the colors bleed together once the salad is mixed is cooking the pasta in dyed water,
then rinsing it in cold water until the water runs clear.

And if you'd like to support the USA... Well, you could always make red, white and blue pasta!

 Directions:
  1. For each cup of cooking water use 20 drops of food coloring. I did add a few extra to the yellow, wanted to make sure it looked bright.
  2. Cook pasta per directions on the package or until desired doneness, drain and run under cold water until the water runs clear. I like adding macaroni to boiling water and setting a timer for 8 minutes.
  3. Mix your favorite pasta salad recipe and serve.
Enjoy the games and have a happy day:@)
...Oh and, go USA!!!
