Kitschy but Cute 1961 Christmas Wreath Re-Do

Look what followed me home from the Goodwill for 25¢... I just love it! I remember G-Mom-B having a lot of these hard plastic type decorations and this 16" wreath has an imprint on the back that says '1961 Joseph Markovits Inc'. While I like the retro feel I picked it up planning to give it a tiny face lift...
I wasn't thrilled with the bow and am pleased to report it was just tied on and not original to the wreath, so it's history. Next I gave it a much needed bath, which was easy because it's plastic... Then added this fun glittered Merry Christmas sign from Walmart.
The sparkly gold really brightens it up and makes it pretty!
I'm very happy with this small change and it's a fun holiday greeting for everyone.

Have a happy day:@)

I looked for a plastic Santa Claus face from my childhood but they are all too expensive. Retro is very "in" now...Darn it!!

  6. This is great and love the 1960's inspiration. This is the type of wreath I need the deer come right up to my front door and have taken a nibble out of the fresh wreath hanging on the door.

  11. I so remember these kinds of wreaths...guess that ages me! Oh, oh!!
PS...love the pig header. My daughter [grown and given me two grandsons] collects pigs, so they remind me of her. That doesn't sound good...much better in my head. LOL
