I started with this free pattern from Crochet Spot HERE and it's actually the first crochet pattern I could follow 100%. What I mean by that is, if I can do it... Any 10 year old should be able to do it:@) I even used the F hook as recommended (instead of going up a size)
I did make some changes though: I used a hairband instead of rubber band and crocheted into the back loop only. I also encountered my first "ugly" yarn (the red). All inexpensive yarns are not created equal... So to speed the project up I started using double crochet for the skirt, winged the increases and maybe made it a little shorter.
I highly recommend trying this super easy pattern HERE!
Make a little girl happy and have a great day:@)

Adorable! You have way more talent than you give yourself credit! The outfit is lovely!
ReplyDeleteYou should start stock piling all your crochet items for craft fairs in the fall. People love home made things. You would make a fortune on the dish cloths and all the other wonderful things you have created. You could do the Barbie dress in Xmas colors and a sparkling one for New Years. Don't you love how I have planned out your crafts? LOL
ReplyDeleteLove Barbie's patriotism Lynn! That blue yarn is so fun :)
ReplyDeleteWhat little girl wouldn't go crazy for her.

That is so adorable!! I was a big Barbie girl back in the day. I would have loved that. I can't believe you have the patience so crochet something so tiny.
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable! Now I see that I really have to learn to crochet so I can make cute outfits like this in the future for my granddaughter's Barbie doll!
ReplyDeleteWell if that's not the cutest thing!!! What a fashion statement for Miss Barbie. My granddaughters would love that.
ReplyDeleteThere is just something fun when I click on your page and see a Barbie doll! I like this red, white and blue. Does it come in my size?
ReplyDeleteNow how cute and clever is this. Love her dress. Thanks tons for linking to inspire me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteCute, I love the eyelash yarn hem.
