Pictured is half a batch.
I think it would be very good with celery, now I didn't try it with celery (not with crackers around)...
but I think it would be good:@)
And as with most cream cheese based spreads, any leftovers are great on a bagel!
1 (8oz) package cream cheese, softened
3/4 C sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
2 Tblsp onion, finely chopped
1 Tblsp horseradish
2 Tblsp fresh parsley, chopped
1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
2 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled-go ahead and add another slice, you know you want to:@)
1/3 C toasted walnuts, chopped-I had pecans
Assorted veggies and crackers for serving
- Mix both cheeses, onion, horseradish, 1 Tblsp parsley, Worcestershire, salt to taste and 1/4 tsp pepper.
- Form into a ball (or log), wrap in plastic wrap and place in fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Roll formed ball (or log) in bacon, nuts and remaining 1 Tblsp parsley.
- Remove from fridge 30 minutes before serving.
Have a happy day:@)
This looks soooo good. I bet it wouldn't be bad on a baked potato either. It's a great munchie to bring to a party too.
ReplyDeleteI love cheese balls. They are one of my favorite appetizers. Forget the celery, pass those crackers :)

This looks scrumptious! What a wonderful combination of flavors...this will be on my holiday menu :)
ReplyDeleteYum. Horseradish is great, isn't it? My neighbor puts some in his jars of pickles for an added kick. And it's what MAKES my hubby's cocktail sauce.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds excellent Lynn - my older son would love it! Have to have something with horseradish around the holidays!
ReplyDeleteYum - needed something to set out with port soaked roast beef and this would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteMmmm! I love horseradish and this looks delicious!!
ReplyDeleteYou didn't tell Earl what was in here, did you?
ReplyDeleteDelish! I love horsie sauce, and it looks so yummy right now. I am kind of sweeted out, and need a little salty to get going :).
ReplyDeleteYummy! I'll have to add this to my holiday entertaining appetizer list. I'm sure it would be wonderful with celery!
ReplyDeleteYum!!! Looks really good! How zesty? I'm a whimp with hot stuff but, that looks so good!
ReplyDeleteCharlene
Kinda funny, I opened a brand new bottle of horseradish and didn't find any heat at all. The best word I can use is "tangy":@)
DeleteI am half Ukrainian so horseradish is in my blood --I love it!
ReplyDeleteOMG, this is right up my alley! Give me spice and bacon and I am a happy camper. Yummers.....
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Lynn! And Earl, too....
