Pumpkin Schmear for Bagels

There has been a very popular and mighty tasty post in Blogland-Pumpkin Schmear. It's so good it will turn your morning bagel into a seasonal treat! In a lot of recipes the pumpkin flavor gets lost to the spices, but it holds up well here. And since pumpkin is high in fiber that makes it healthy right? Right...
So maybe I added a little extra schmear:@)
I made a half batch and did cut back 1 Tblsp on the brown sugar, but I like things a little less sweet.
Start with less, you can always add more.
Please note that this will be a softer spread.

Pumpkin Schmear-from Barnes & Noodles
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 C canned pumpkin
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp vanilla
5 Tblsp brown sugar
-Beat cream cheese until softened, add in the rest and mix well. Cover and chill for at least one hour.
-Serve on bagels.

Super easy, super yummy and something I highly recommend trying!

  3. Yum!!! I am loving pumpkin too - today I treated myself with a Starbucks spiced pumpkin latte, and yesterday it was a Dairy Queen pumpkin pie blizzard...oh yeah, I made pumpkin bread last night too and had some for breakfast. Pumpkin bread with pumpkin shmear - now that would be good! And pumpkin has lots of vitamin A too.
My mother in law used to buy the Sugar Pie pumpkins and remove the insides and process it for pie. Too much work for me, I'll buy canned. But it was good! I could go on and on about the delights of pumpkin but I won't...Yum!!!
