So maybe I added a little extra schmear:@)
I made a half batch and did cut back 1 Tblsp on the brown sugar, but I like things a little less sweet.
Start with less, you can always add more.
Please note that this will be a softer spread.
Pumpkin Schmear-from Barnes & Noodles
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 C canned pumpkin
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp vanilla
5 Tblsp brown sugar
-Beat cream cheese until softened, add in the rest and mix well. Cover and chill for at least one hour.
-Serve on bagels.
Super easy, super yummy and something I highly recommend trying!
Have a happy day:@)

ReplyDeletei will definitely try it. looks delicious. yummy good!! (:
ReplyDeleteThis sounds way good!
ReplyDeleteYum!!! I am loving pumpkin too - today I treated myself with a Starbucks spiced pumpkin latte, and yesterday it was a Dairy Queen pumpkin pie blizzard...oh yeah, I made pumpkin bread last night too and had some for breakfast. Pumpkin bread with pumpkin shmear - now that would be good! And pumpkin has lots of vitamin A too.
ReplyDeleteMy mother in law used to buy the Sugar Pie pumpkins and remove the insides and process it for pie. Too much work for me, I'll buy canned. But it was good! I could go on and on about the delights of pumpkin but I won't...Yum!!!
Now that is a really nice schmear! I have to try it. Bet it would be good on a cinnamon raisin!
ReplyDeleteAlright then - that was a great idea!
ReplyDeleteLove pumpkin cream cheese! Especially on a cinnamon raisin bagel!! I usually pick some up at Wegman's. :) xo
ReplyDeleteEmma's having a slumber party following their homecoming dance Saturday night. This sounds like something I need to make (even if Chris and I are the only ones eating bagels). YUM!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with the others. I could smear it on a whole bunch of things.

Just so you know, this is my FIRST pin in over a month. This looks delicious, and I am absolutely positively making it next week for when both of my girls are home. YUM!
ReplyDeleteI bet you have cream cheese on your grocery list alsmost as much as I do : ) Shmere is a good word for what one does to a bagel.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like pumpkin heaven on a bagel. I'm running to the store to get some bagels. Happy weekend, Lynn!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm already back with the bagels and I just mixed up the schmear. Wow, I tasted it and let hubby lick the beaters. I can't wait to toast our bagels tomorrow morning. Our son's gonna love this!!
ReplyDeleteGotta say oh yes you will! Not my recipe, just sharing a winner:@)
DeleteOh yum. Perfect for an autumn morning!
