Ornaments 60¢, bells 52¢
The feathers were broken on both birds, but I was ok with that because I wanted to add some red and green ones I picked up at a flea market for 25¢, and Ma gave me these cool tinsel toothpicks...

Truly a great transformation. I'm sure they are feeling proud now with their new tails and bells to tell when they have arrived! Happy New year! Dianne
ReplyDeleteI have no "eye". I would have probably passed up those birds and bells. You have created a beautiful ornament for your tree.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
What lucky birds to have come home with you and had a beautiful transformation.
ReplyDeleteSadly, the closest Michael's store to me is closing in January.
I will have to visit often and see what deals I will find.
Oh I could live at AC Moore! I think the feathers - certainly something different on the tree!
ReplyDeleteI like the feathers for the tree! The birds make a very pretty ornament, you are so creative!
ReplyDeleteHow fun and quirky. Like the feathered one! Happy New Year
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable. Good find at the sales!
ReplyDeleteVery unique! Love how they are blowing it out the end haha. One of them can be for the 4th of July.
ReplyDeleteNow how fun are these. I didn't do any after Christmas shopping, just too much to put away already. lol Love your swans. Happy New Year and may your year be filled with tons of Blessings. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteLove 'em! I would call them flamingos! LOL! I am cursing all of my "stuff" as I take it down and clean! But I'll do it all again next year!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! How fun to give them new tails!
ReplyDeleteYou did good! I need to find some of those clip on's to repair a few vintage birds that I have. I like the tinsel on your birds!!!
ReplyDeleteI have clip-on cardinals that I bought a couple of years ago in the Christmas Tree Shop for outside. I like your birds, I think I am partial to the feathers. Happy 2012! xo
ReplyDeleteWonderful transformation. I love the addition of the color to the tails. Have a Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to fix these up and make them all your own. I love the red and blue tinsel tail! hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteLynn,
ReplyDeleteLove the bird clip on ornaments! I say red and green feathers all the way!
You have such a good imagination, Lynn. I would not have thought of replacing the broken feathers. I probably would have thought what a shame that they are damaged and passed on them. They turned out to be a pretty and inexpensive little project. I like that kind! Happy New Year!!------- Shannon
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Some people talk about saving the whales but you certainly saved these birds from the trash heap! I like the red and green one!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn,
ReplyDeletegreat finds, Both ideas are great but I love the one with the added bells.
Wish you a wonderful new year with luck, health and inspirations.
Best greetings, Johanna
They are both great! Difficult to choose. happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI have several old clip-on ornaments that I love, but they aren't as colorful as yours, Lynn. What a fun addition to your ornament collection.
ReplyDeleteStinkin' cute! What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteCute find! I like the red and green feathers - just because of the Christmas colors.
ReplyDeleteBoth are nice but I like the feathers best. They look so ... bird like! Nancy
ReplyDeleteFun - everything is better with a personal touch.
ReplyDeleteI need you to make me over. sandie
ReplyDeleteAren't they cute. I'm going out shopping tomorrow to see if there's anything left (I'm sure there will be). I only like the Christmas sales when the stuff is dirt cheap, so that only leaves the cast offs left.
ReplyDeleteLove the feathered one. I have been searching for owls for our tree for next year. By "searching" I mean hoping to stumble upon them at Food Lion or Southern States which is where I spend all my time. Unless they sell them at the drive at McDonald's...

What fun little birds/geese/swans you have created!!
ReplyDeleteFor years I have kept a donate/garage sale box in my basement. I find that having a dedicated place to put things helps me get rid of things more easily. And sometimes I'll just put things in the back of my van, so I can take a load of bigger things over to the local charity shop. Either way, I know I'm working to make my home more comfortable.
That is quite a transformation. I like the bird with the toothpick tail best. I hope you had a wonderful holiday. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn! Those are so cute! Happy New Year to you and thanks for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Those are cute! I was too busy and distracted to do the clearance sales this year. I wish I had done something clever like that.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great new year!
Thats so clever, I love them.
ReplyDeleteYou found some wonderful bargains, Lynn! I bought a set of ceramic Santa Claus face dessert plates through the Pottery Barn web site today -- four of them were reduced to $14.00 from an original price of $34.00! I had a gift card so they were "free" in the end. That has been my only find. The stores were cleaned out so quickly this year!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute find! I like the feathers best- Love your birds! :)
ReplyDeleteSweet Lady, I will take either off you hands, umm, tree.
ReplyDeleteYou can use the red and blue one for the 4th of July!
Blessings, Ginger
