May Flower Table

Hey everyone! Early May brings white flowers to my yard! I have lily of the valley and bridal wreath right now. So I thought I'd add a splash of red to my table with accessories today!

I picked out this great red handled flatware with my gift cert from Designs by Gollum!
Thanks Michael, it's fun and will be perfect for so many holidays!

I saw a recipe for Strawberry Rhubarb Pie that called for ginger, 
so I thought I'd try it out by making a little Crisp before I made it for Mother's Day:@)
I don't know what smells better, the rhubarb crisp or the lily of the valley!

and Earl says...
Remember, it's not the size of the bouquet that matters on Sunday,
but that you take the time to remember Mom.

    Earl is such a wise piggy! Love the table. Lily of the valley! I used to have some at our old house. I need to plant some here. I just love the smell of it. My white hyacinths are just now blooming. They smell so good! Great job on the table and I just love what you got with your gift card! Where did you find that?!

    Hi Lynn, I love this little tablescape with the delicious smelling lily-of-the-valley flowers. I wish that they lasted for months and months - their season is so very short which make them even more precious. Our apple tree is in bloom along with my favorite, lilacs! The daffodils are still pretty perky here as well. We just returned from Italy so I'm finally back visiting my favorite blogs. Hope all is well! Ciao, bella!

    I love your simple, lovely, touches. Your little dainty whites are adorable. Some of the things I see are just over the top. You are a true homemaker, always welcome at my table and I'd love to sit up to yours for a little gingered crisp! No wonder you can't get rid of Earl...@

    One of my favorite things is putting what's blooming on my table. I love both bridal veil and lily of the valley. The first one we see around here a lot (not right now, but a few weeks ago). The LOTV I don't see. Never thought about that until now. I'm making a mental note to ask Mom about that.

    Hi Lynn, I too love lily of the valley. I do not have any but my sister does and it is beautiful. It grows all around her tree. It smells so good. Your rhubarb crisp looks delicious. Which reminds me I am growing some and I should check if any of it is ready to pick. I love rhubarb and I saw that recipe too.

    Earl is such a camera... hog! Doesn't lilly of the valley make you swoon? So so pretty.

    Lily of the Valley always reminds me of my Grandma. Can't really pinpoint why....just a faint memory.

    Whoohooo,I'm just giddy too see Earl!
    And congrats on your winnings.I can almost smell the Lilly of the Valley if Earl wasn't hawgin'!
    I have to confess I've never had rhubarb(can I get it in southeast Ga.and do I buy fresh or canned or frozen?),I think I need to make it my mission to get some and try this recipe,YUM!

    Lily of the Valley is one of my favorite flowers...in my last yard I had tons of them (to the point that we were trying to kiil some because they were taking over) and I also spy a nice Fenton Milk glass basket, too...your table looks so inviting!

    It will be WEEKS before I see any of my lily of the valley! Yours looks beautiful in the ruby red vase & I'm lovin' that little white serving plate with it matching cup, Lynn. How cute!

    You can have my share of the rhubarb, though. Just not a big fan...I don't think my Mom used enough sugar! Makes me pucker every time I even think about it. LOL

    Such a beautiful table. I absolutely love the red vase with the lily of the valley. Love the red flatware. What is the source on the flatware? I just love strawberry/rhubarb pie. This is a new wrinkle. Worth giving it a try.

    Great flatware and I love the lilly of the valley. Your post makes me think of my Dad. His birthday was May 10th and the lilly of the valledy were always blooming or his birthday. He also loved Strawberry Rhubarb Pie!

    My mother had Lilies of the Valley. AFter my parents died I tried transplanting them from Wisconsin to Utah and they came up one year but that was it. I just replanted some this year that I got from Sam's. I haven't seen anything yet, but so hope they bloom. I had them in my bridal bouquet!

    Strawberry rhubarb is one of my favorite combinations. How did your recipe turn out? I love lilys of the valley and am sad I will likely miss them this year as we will not be returning to Maine until they are gone. Maybe one or two will still be blooming in the shaded areas....I hope.
