I picked out this great red handled flatware with my gift cert from Designs by Gollum!
so I thought I'd try it out by making a little Crisp before I made it for Mother's Day:@)
I don't know what smells better, the rhubarb crisp or the lily of the valley!
and Earl says...
Remember, it's not the size of the bouquet that matters on Sunday,
but that you take the time to remember Mom.
Pretty, Lynn. I'd love to have lily of the valley growing in my garden. It makes a sweet bouquet. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteEarl is such a wise piggy! Love the table. Lily of the valley! I used to have some at our old house. I need to plant some here. I just love the smell of it. My white hyacinths are just now blooming. They smell so good! Great job on the table and I just love what you got with your gift card! Where did you find that?!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, I love this little tablescape with the delicious smelling lily-of-the-valley flowers. I wish that they lasted for months and months - their season is so very short which make them even more precious. Our apple tree is in bloom along with my favorite, lilacs! The daffodils are still pretty perky here as well. We just returned from Italy so I'm finally back visiting my favorite blogs. Hope all is well! Ciao, bella!
ReplyDeleteLove the table from the cloth to the flowers. So far, no blooms in the yard. Soon I hope!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
I love your simple, lovely, touches. Your little dainty whites are adorable. Some of the things I see are just over the top. You are a true homemaker, always welcome at my table and I'd love to sit up to yours for a little gingered crisp! No wonder you can't get rid of Earl...@
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things is putting what's blooming on my table. I love both bridal veil and lily of the valley. The first one we see around here a lot (not right now, but a few weeks ago). The LOTV I don't see. Never thought about that until now. I'm making a mental note to ask Mom about that.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, I too love lily of the valley. I do not have any but my sister does and it is beautiful. It grows all around her tree. It smells so good. Your rhubarb crisp looks delicious. Which reminds me I am growing some and I should check if any of it is ready to pick. I love rhubarb and I saw that recipe too.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day.
Hugs, Jeanne
Earl is such a camera... hog! Doesn't lilly of the valley make you swoon? So so pretty.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your win and new flatware. Better to scoop up all that Strawberry Rhubarb Pie! Yummy! What a great post!
Yvonne
Oh, my lily of the valley is blooming, I better get out there and make a pretty bouquet like yours!
ReplyDeleteI just love the little bouquet in the red vase!!! Yvonne is right Earl is a camera HOG, but when you're as cute as Earl you can be!!

Just the right touch of red for your table setting to make the great meal more festive.
ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous!!! I love the red.
ReplyDeleteLily of the Valley is one of my favorite flowers...in my last yard I had tons of them (to the point that we were trying to kiil some because they were taking over) and I also spy a nice Fenton Milk glass basket, too...your table looks so inviting!
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful Mother's Day too, Lynn. Rhubarb just started showing up in our local market and I can't wait to make my first pie. It's one of my favorites. Love the Lily of the Valley too.
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers ... thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table and now I want a rhubarb crisp!
ReplyDeleteIt will be WEEKS before I see any of my lily of the valley! Yours looks beautiful in the ruby red vase & I'm lovin' that little white serving plate with it matching cup, Lynn. How cute!
ReplyDeleteYou can have my share of the rhubarb, though. Just not a big fan...I don't think my Mom used enough sugar! Makes me pucker every time I even think about it. LOL
Love your red & white table & your little crisp is just the right size! Your lily of the valley is so sweet in your vase~ that Earl is so wise :-)
ReplyDeleteStrawberry Rhubarb is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post, I adore the lily of the valley, my mouth is watering for your strawberry rhubarb!!

Love smelling Lily of the Valley, when walking into a room...lovely table, Lynn. Rhubarb with ginger, sounds delish!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful red and white!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen real lily of the valley, would love to, I've heard they smell wonderful too. They are so lovely!
Katherine
Red and white is so crisp and cheerful! And your pie looks YUMMY!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! Love your tablecloth!! Happy Mothers Day!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful table. I absolutely love the red vase with the lily of the valley. Love the red flatware. What is the source on the flatware? I just love strawberry/rhubarb pie. This is a new wrinkle. Worth giving it a try.
ReplyDeleteThe red flatware is great. I love lilly of the valley too. You are so right-sometimes one flower is all you need to make a table beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat flatware and I love the lilly of the valley. Your post makes me think of my Dad. His birthday was May 10th and the lilly of the valledy were always blooming or his birthday. He also loved Strawberry Rhubarb Pie!
ReplyDeleteHope to see you at Seasonal Sundays!
- The Tablescaper
I love lilly of the valley! Your bouquet is so sweet. Your crisp looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYum! I have never made rhubarb, maybe I'll make this for myself for Mother's Day :))
ReplyDeletexo, Andrea
Great table this week! I love red and white, it's timeless and seasonless. The crisp looks too tempting and I don't even like rhubarb! Thanks for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteLove Lily of the Valley. Such an old fashion flower. My mom has a ton of it growing on the side of her house. Pretty table Lynn.
ReplyDeleteI so love Lily of the Valley. They remind me of my grandpa's house. He had them around his foundation.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!
My mother had Lilies of the Valley. AFter my parents died I tried transplanting them from Wisconsin to Utah and they came up one year but that was it. I just replanted some this year that I got from Sam's. I haven't seen anything yet, but so hope they bloom. I had them in my bridal bouquet!
ReplyDeleteStrawberry rhubarb is one of my favorite combinations. How did your recipe turn out? I love lilys of the valley and am sad I will likely miss them this year as we will not be returning to Maine until they are gone. Maybe one or two will still be blooming in the shaded areas....I hope.
ReplyDeleteThis looks wonderful. Rhubard is not commonplace here in the South, but I have always been curious to try it -- you certainly make it look scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteRed and white is always so striking...your table is lovely...I can just imagine the aromas coming from that table!...the lillies and the rhubarb..mmmm xx
ReplyDeleteSweet lily of the valley bouquet. Sometimes I prefer a small vase of flowers on my table. Love the red and white. Nice table! Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little table! I would love a scoop of that yummy crisp. :) I love Lilly of the Valley, but it would have to be special ordered here in the desert. :(
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for linking up to Fresh-Cut Friday!!! I really appreciate it! :)
~Liz
Your rhubarb crisp looks yummy. I think some of my rhubarb stalks want to meet the oven! Lovely table.
ReplyDeleteMmmm, I love the rhubarb pie and your small bouquet of lily of the valley is very cute !
ReplyDeleteIn my garden, it is already faded...
Thank you for your visit.
Bonne continuation, bises.
Mylise
Zinnia
