Hi everyone! Just wanted to shout a big ole "Woo-Hoo" about the strawberries that are ripening up out in the garden, they are so pretty! I posted my beautiful blossoms on Pink Saturday not too long ago.
I'm hoping to have enough to make strawberry/rhubarb jam over the holiday weekend! Thinking about adding an orange to the jam this time to change it up a bit!
I don't have as many this year as I did last year, but I'm going to guide the runners and try to make sure they are happy. I pick them as they ripen and add them to a bag in the freezer, then when I get enough I can make jam.
I'm linking to these fun parties today: Woo-Hoo Wednesday, Rednesday and Outdoor Wednesday, please stop over and say Hi!
Have a happy day!

Strawberry/rhubarb jam sounds just as yummy as the strawberry/rhubarb pies that my friend makes! I hope you get a bumper crop of berries this summer!

You and me!! My strawberries are in to. I'm thinking desserts. Your's look big and beautiful. How long has this bed been there? I know they spread each year. Yummy.

They look so yummy....blessings
ReplyDeleteJam certainly sounds like a good thing with all of your berries. My berries are still green but once they turn red they will be made into a fruit salad.
ReplyDeleteJoyce

Oh Boy! Jam! I never can do that...lol.. I get the berries and they end up in pies or just disappear.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried the strawberry pie recipe I posted several weeks ago? I have been making two each week and was given orders to make four this week!

ReplyDeleteI definitely need some of your strawberries! They look great!

Orange should add some very nice sweetness to balance the rhubarb. With homegrown strawberries and homemade jam, it's going to be very tasty! :-)
ReplyDeleteWoohoo... :) I buy homemade strawberry jam at the little farmer's market out here and she puts orange rind in it.....it's yummo!
