In this case the sequel is even better! I'm joining Fertilizer Friday and Pink Saturday with this post. I mentioned that the two twigs I bought in a box from Walmart produced different flowers, I believe this is the "real" Bowl of Beauty peony - just spectacular!
The really fun news is, they bloom a couple weeks apart for an extended show!
As they open up I'll add more pics.
I really like 'Bowl of Beauty' peony... especially because they are shorter and don't generally flop... the ability to stand on their own has become a basic requirement for me with any new peony investments! Larry
LOVE your peony but am looking for information as to where they are "happiest" planted. I have a Sarah Bernhardt that has never bloomed...but I'm sure it's not happy with me. Thanks, Gwen
Those are really pretty. I have never seen peonies as pretty as those. You got them at Walmart? I think I am going to have to go and visit Walmart really soon. Now, where to put peonies....
Good morning Lynn, I am trying to fit in some visiting before I leave for the plant sale. Thanks for your comment and identifying my flowers. I know you are correct. Some garden club member huh? HA!
Your peonies are gorgeous. My mother always grew them in her 'picking' garden. She grew flowers to pick for the house. Peonies were my favorite flowers to pick and they made the most beautiful bouquet. We had lunch at a French Cafe yesterday and there were two huge bouquets of them. Pinks and white. I needed my camera. What kind of blogger am I? sigh!
They are absolutely gorgeous! I planted Bowl Of Beauty year before last. It didn't bloom last year but I figured because it was new. Now it is showing no sign this year either. I'm just sick as it looked so pretty in the picture. Now, seeing yours, I know it is! Thanks so much for stopping by, I love the company. Love the name of your blog!
Lynn. Thanks for stopping by! Peonies are one of my very favorite flowers! Funny how different the two are! HAve a lovely pink Saturday! luvs and glitter ~jen
hi lynn! your peony has such a pretty contrast between the outside & inside. it must smell wonderful, too! what a bonus to have two different kinds of flowers in one purchase! sure wish the peony season lasted longer, don't you? thanks for stopping by my blog today. (o: have a great weekend!
Don't you just love a surprise. I wish peonies would have a scent, it would be heaven for sure. Your blooms are eye candy. Happy Pink Saturday sweetie, Char
Hi Lynn! I'm meeting a lot of Lynns today! I adore peonies! Yours are so sweet! Mine are quite big and heavy blossoms and it ALWAYS pours the week they open and they are laying on the ground and I must shake each and every one off to get them to stand up again. But peonies are worth it Thanks for sharing your pinkies! Lynn :-)
ahhh, these are some of my favorite flowers. So pretty. Thanks so much for the sweetest words you left over at Always Nesting regarding ME. I thank you so much. I am keeping my fingers crossed that you will win the gift card. ;)) xo bj

My boys are grown and on their own and while the day job puts food on the table, it doesn't feed the soul. So this Philly Girl started Pig In Mud. Please join me as I welcome each season and holiday through brief posts focusing on home cooking, baking, crafts and Barbie fun. I hope you find this a happy place that provides inspiration:@) Lynn
