Ready for Some Football??? Favorite Snack Recipes & Barbie's too...

Well folks, you already know I am thrilled it's football season:@) Even though the Phillies are giving us a fun year, nothing is like football! So I thought I'd gather three munchies my crew thought were very good, and all very different...

Whimper worthy ~easy~ homemade sauce!

A nice easy to pop into your mouth favorite,
that's just a tad healthier than other versions.

Different and ~substantial~ in case there will be adult beverages at your gathering.

I picked up a Mini Brands Series 3 toy and just in time for football, it had Kraft Ranch Dressing, Velveeta Cheese and Kraft Cream Cheese... Barbie says, sounds like dip season!
Classic Velveeta Chili Dip
16 oz Velveeta cut into 1/2" chunks
15 oz can chili, with or without beans
Mix both in microwavable bowl 5 minutes on high, stirring half way through,
or until cheese has melted.
Serve with chips and/or veggies.

Barbie and Ken are hosting the first football game of the year, Eagles vs Lions. They're making sure they have all of the food and munchies under control. Slow cooker of meatballs, cheese and crackers, dip ingredients, and...

Ken's taste testing the tacos, you know...
To make sure they're perfect😉
Taco from felt and beads: Fold circle of tan felt in half, glue green yarn in center, glue on red, black and gold beads to mimic tomatoes, olives and cheese.

Yep, Barbie and Ken are a *T-E-A-M* when it comes to party prep😎

Looking for more football munchie ideas?

🏈Make something just for fun and have a happy day!
Go Eagles!!!

Taco Flavored Cheddar Crackers -No Bake

Here's another fun snack for football games, or just noshing any day of the week. These Taco Flavored Cheddar Crackers come together in no time, simply mix and eat, no baking required. I also love that it only calls for a couple pantry items... Honestly folks, party food doesn't have to have a long list of ingredients, or lots of complicated instructions... It just needs to taste good:@) You might be surprised when you pop one of these into your mouth, and there's a chance your crew might look for this to become your signature dish the next time you get together.

Does your crowd like things hot?
Add a couple shakes of cayenne pepper if desired...
I used an envelope of the Walmart brand taco seasoning, it worked great!
I suggest scooping the crackers out of the bag, don't pour bag into the bowl.
This is best without the broken bits and crumbs.

Taco Flavored Cheddar Crackers
7 oz cheddar crackers-Dollar Tree size
1 Tblsp olive oil
1 Tblsp taco seasoning-measure from envelope
1/2 tsp sugar
  1. Mix olive oil, taco seasoning and sugar well.
  2. Stir in crackers, keep mixing until they are all covered in mixture.
  3. Seal in air tight container.
Snack well and have a happy day:@)

Lime Margarita Oyster Crackers, No Bake, Less Oily -Sugar Free Lime Jello

While these Margarita Oyster Crackers are alcohol free, they are sweet and the flavor does really pop with lime and salt. I used sugar free Jello for the big burst of lime, and added some lemon pepper seasoning for a little flavor boost and black pepper kick too. This is a fun snack for summer noshing or while binge watching shark week with a nice cold drink. My son said a bowl on the bar would be dangerous if he was out for beers with the guys-a good enough endorsement for me:@) My only question, I don't know why it didn't turn green???
One four serving size sugar free Jello = approximately 1 Tblsp.
Tip: Do take the time to fish the crackers out of the bag instead of just dumping them into the bowl.
This is best without the small broken pieces and crumbs.

My favorite lemon pepper seasoning:
I do suggest buying a fresh one each spring:@)

Margarita Oyster Crackers
7 oz oyster crackers -this is the Dollar Tree size
2 Tblsp light flavored oil-I used vegetable oil
2 tsp sugar free lime Jello
1 tsp lemon pepper seasoning
(Alternately: 10 oz oyster crackers -Aldi size, 2 1/2 Tblsp oil, a whole pack of Jello, 1 1/4 tsp seasoning)
  1. Add oil to medium size bowl, stir in Jello and lemon pepper seasoning. Mix well.
  2. Add crackers, gently mix. Cover and stir occasionally for an hour. I like Lock-N-Lock bowls, and just give it a shake and turn it upside down every once in a while.
  3. Store in air tight container.
Snack boldly and have a happy day:@)

Parmesan & Cracked Black Pepper Oyster Crackers -No Bake, Less Oil

I enjoyed my first try at dill seasoned oyster crackers so much I thought I'd try some Parmesan & Cracked Black Pepper Oyster Crackers this time. They did not disappoint either:@) This is a nice little snack to add to your sports noshing for the big game, or to add a flavorful crunchy side to a lunch salad. I wouldn't hesitate to make either of these cracker recipes again folks, they are a tad healthier, quick to make and well received by others!

The crackers themselves have salt and there is salt in the cheese...
Feel free to omit the extra 1/4 tsp if you'd like, you know your crowd:@)

Parmesan & Cracked Black Pepper Oyster Crackers
7 oz oyster crackers-this is the Dollar Tree size
2 Tblsp olive oil
1 1/2 Tblsp grated parmesan cheese, the kind in the can
3/4 tsp onion powder
Hearty 1/4 tsp ~coarse~ freshly ground black pepper-and maybe a few extra grinds:@)
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp kosher salt-can leave this out if desired
  • Mix everything well in large bowl. Scoop into air tight container and let marinate for an hour. Turn bowl upside down every once in a while, Lock-N-Lock is good for this.
Enjoy a snack and have a happy day:@)

Seasoned Oyster Crackers -No Bake, Less Oily, No Ranch, a tad healthier...

This is a dangerous recipe folks... I could toss these little Seasoned Oyster Crackers into my mouth just as quickly as popcorn! I love a few things about them, they don't use processed dry ranch dressing mix, they call for less oil/fat (and I went a tad healthier and used half olive oil, might try all olive oil next time), everyone seems to like parmesan cheese and we here at Pig In Mud ~love~ dill, so, yea, they were a big hit:@) Mix well in a large bowl, store in zip top bag or Lock-N-Lock bowl for an hour and you will be enjoying this snack before you know it!

Seasoned Oyster Crackers -Adapted from food.com

1/4 C vegetable oil-I used half extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp sugar
1 Tblsp parmesan cheese-the grated kind in the can
2 tsp dried dill weed
12 oz oyster crackers

  1. Mix everything ~except crackers~ in large bowl.
  2. Add crackers, mix well with spatula.
  3. Store in plastic bag or tightly sealed bowl for at least one hour, shake occasionally.

Snack well and have a happy day:@)
