Crochet Duckie Plastic Easter Egg Holder

I decided to revisit my Crochet Bunny Egg Holder Tutorial from last year and made an Easter Duckie Egg Holder using the same pattern. These little egg holders whip up in no time and with Easter being so late this year you can make a whole flock of them:@) His beak is felt, it and the eyes are hot glued on.
I'm lovin' his spiky tail feathers!
Bright shiny pics, spring is coming folks!

They can be made with many different types of yarns or materials. I found this funky yellow in the $1 bin at AC Moore.

Here is the duck and last year's bunny (pattern and picture tutorial HERE) with a little hen I bought at a craft show over 10 years ago. The hen was my inspiration piece. I'm putting up a bigger tree this Easter and will be using these egg holders as ornaments.

If you don't crochet and would like another idea these Foam Easter Egg Holders are easy enough for the kids to help with and come together in no time.

  1. That little duck is adorable. I used to do some handwork, but never this. Now my eyes will not let me.

  9. Oh Lynn, I LOVE these darling egg cozies!! My mother-in-law made some several years ago and gave all of us some of them. The ones she made look most like your hens. They are all darling, but I love rabbits, so I'm partial to the white bunny! He is adorable, and you really make me want to learn to crochet. :)

Have a great day, my friend!

  10. These colorful photos just made me feel happy! Easter is my favorite because there are so many farm animals involved in it's decor. It is also about the only time I can find anything to do with lambs.

  16. So cute!!! I'll have to wait another year or so to make anything with eyes because the 2-year-old would probably eat them :)
