This would be great on a hot dog or pulled pork!
Oops, let's change that to...
Try something new at the next grill out!

Tennessee Style Mustard Coleslaw
1/2 C mayonnaise
1/4 C prepared yellow mustard
1/4 C apple cider vinegar
1/4 C sugar
2 tsp kosher salt-I suggest starting with 1 tsp and adding more to taste
2 tsp ground black pepper-I suggest starting with 1 tsp and adding more to taste
1 tsp celery seeds
1 large head of cabbage, shredded
-Mix everything except cabbage.
-Add cabbage, mix well and chill until ready to serve.
I love coleslaw. Will have to try it with mustard and, ahem, BEEF barbecue.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
LOL - Yessir, Earl, no pulled pork. Love the new twist on cole slaw.
ReplyDeleteSounds good! How 'bout on some pulled chicken sammies, Earl?!
ReplyDeleteSounds perfectly tangy to me and I'm so sorry Earl, but it's pulled pork all the way for me!!
ReplyDeleteColeslaw is one of the (few) things I don't like because it tastes too mayonnaise-y. I would definitely try this one because of the vinegar and the mustard. I'll bet I would like it much more.
ReplyDeleteThis looks wonderful Lynn and I can easily sub out the sugar for splenda and have a perfectly low-carb side. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

ReplyDeleteThis does look good! I've never heard of mustard slaw before. Thanks for sharing. : )
ReplyDeleteI like my potato salad on the tart side and usually think that most coleslaw's are too sweet, this sounds just right.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day, my friend! xo
I found Noble Pig some time ago before they moved to Oregon. I would love to visit their winery one day. It isn't that far from us.
ReplyDeleteThe thing with coleslaw is that it is either really good or really bad. I never seem to find a middle ground. I think this one will be at the top.
Sounds good! xo

Lynn~ There is a bbq joint around the corner from us that does mustard based slaw instead of traditional vinegar style! It hadn't occurred to me to try it on a dog :)
