Did you ever notice?

Hey everyone! Is it just me, or did you notice too...
  • That everyone looks cuter in a Santa hat!
  • The shorter time you have, the longer the line is.
  • "Be of good cheer" counts everywhere except department stores! I saw a bumper sticker one Christmas that said "I know there's a Hell, I work retail".
  • The more money put into marketing-creating the "demand", coincides with the less money put into creating the "supply".
  • The year you decide to scale back on the outdoor Christmas lights is the same year your neighbor puts up so many he'll probably get a Christmas Card from the Electric Company!
  • Christmas cookies that are a little browner on the bottom really do taste better.
  • Even though kids know Santa is checking his list... there's still a lot of naughty going on!
  • The string of twinkle lights only blows out after it's on the fully decorated tree.
  • and most importantly... No matter how hard you try to be organized and plan ahead, this season still sneaks up on you!
Here's hoping all of your holiday prep and purchases are going smoothly.
Have a happy day:@)

  1. Good ones! They are all so true too, especially the longer the line and the lights going out after they are on the tree. Haha! Thanks for the smiles!

  3. I have found out numbers 1,2, and 5!

I love Santa hats. I can always pick the wrong line - lol.

And I am always off with my neighbors on lights - well I'm always off anyway so it really doesn't matter!

  4. True, true! My hubby checks all the lights before hanging them on the house only to find out that half of them don't work once they're hung. That Murphy has a ball at Christmas!

  5. Working retail is such a hard job. Shoppers just treat you ugly. Been there, done that many many years ago.

  6. So right. I might add that an ugly cake always tastes good.

  7. What purchases? I haven't started shopping because I'm too busy with other things. Guess I should start soon! Nice to see Earl, he makes a fine Santa. Hope to see you at my gingerbread themed party starting tomorrow.--Shannon

  13. WORD!!!! You nailed it. I saw a photo of a house lit up from one end to the other and then the neighbor's house had white lights strung up to spell the word DITTO. Hilarious.

  16. It is true. I don't shop Black Friday, I am the neighbor who, in response to the neighbor who goes overboard (and I have one like that!), will put up a sign saying "Ditto" with an arrow pointing towards them xo

Thank you for all your shared recipes this past year; you make me almost competent in the kitchen!!! ;)!

  34. Hi Lynn, I have not been visiting much this week because I injured both of my hands in a fall at my daughter's home last week. They put out their outdoor decorations and I tripped over a cord. It is painful to get old sometimes. No broken bones, just badly bruised on the palm of my hands. Seniors should not fall!!! HA!

Love your pig with a bit of Christmas and your list is spot on! Love the reminder that organized does not fit the Christmas season. So true!
    Hugs, Jeanne

  35. These are too cute and I noticed this very morning that ONE STRAND OF LIGHTS ARE O.U.T. on my tree. DANG IT.
Hope you have a good weekend...

  37. I agree with most of them, but I DO NOT like brown-bottomed cookies! My husband spent 3 hours this year, taking off and then restringing a new set of lights on the tree (we had been trying to ignore the fact that they were out the last two years!). I haven't really begun much yet -- I will most likely, like every year before be running behind! Joni

  38. Lynn~ I haven't seen that bumper sticker but if I had it would have plastered on our cars! I think a life requirement should be that everyone either has to work retail at least one Christmas season or work a shift as a breakfast waitress :)

  39. too,too funny...everyone of those hit home :-)

  40. You obviously have not seen me in a Santa hat!

  42. So true! You just put in words that made me laugh instead of cry. Thanks so much and everyone but me looks better in a Santa hat!
