I walked outside to find this:
And thought I'd cut some for the kitchen table.
I started this patchwork topper a while ago, just wanted something colorful and
originally thought I'd make a small quilt for the foot of the bed.

ReplyDeleteThe different colors of zinnias are so much fun! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat post.

Lynn,
ReplyDeleteZinnias are a favorite of mine as well. I will be cutting some a little later today!

For some unknown reason, I didn't get my Zinnias in this year. Makes me sad. Thanks for sharing yours though..they are beautiful. Love your vase and patchwork...they all work together so well!
ReplyDeleteShoot! Lost my comment.
ReplyDeleteI love zinnias. They are so happy and so easy to grow. Even I can grow them. That's saying something.
My other comment was better, but I lost it.
oh how pretty!!! I have never tried to grow them myself. The nursery around the corner grows a huge patch of them and I usually go up there and cut my own ~ for a few bucks! Next year I will try to grow my own. Remind me.. lol.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Oh how pretty, love the bouqets they make! I got mine in late so they have not bloomed yet...but soon!
ReplyDeleteThey're sooo pretty... Do they like full sun??

I LOVE zinnias. So pretty and remind me of my mother.
ReplyDeleteYour zinnia's are beautiful. I love how you've planted them in a large group. Mine are scattered all of over, a space thing I guess. Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a single zinnia in my garden -- shame on me -- these are such fun colors for the summer. Joni
ReplyDeleteYour zinnias are divine. I admire zinnias, the colors are a bit different, unusual pinks and salmons and lilac, etc.
ReplyDeleteZinnas are such a beautiful flower. All the colors are gorgeous. I remember my Mom used to grow rows of them where I grew up.
ReplyDeleteAnn

ReplyDeleteLynn,
ReplyDeleteI agree! I love zinnias too - so much fun and variety, but the bunnies love them better.....used to grow them just like you did. Especially the "Cut and Come Again", lots of bouquets with them, as their name suggested!j
The bouquet is happy and summery!
I also love zinnias! They are so pretty and bright. Your photos show such lovely colors.
ReplyDeleteI adore zinnias!! And your quilt looks nice as a table topper. I have some dahlias growing, but no zinnias, so I have to get mine from the farmers market this year.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Zinnia's. They are so much fun! Love cutting and making arrangements. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteCute! My mom bought me Lilliput seeds and I loved them mixed in w/my zinnias.
ReplyDeleteThese zinnia and your quilt are gorgeous! I didn't know the zinnia bloom in different colors. That's so pretty and what a surprise! :)

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites as well. Such sturdy and cheerful blooms!

I never gave a zinnia a second thought until last year. My hairdresser told me about a showy variety called California zinnias. I am "in love"!
ReplyDeleteLovely zinnias, so pretty and colourful.
ReplyDeleteThey would brighten any day for certain.
Bon dimanche
Maggie
Your zinnias are stunning - and I saw your recipes for chipped beef & biscuits - 2 American meals I miss while living in London - yum!

Do you have to cut them at a certain place?
They are so pretty! I might try planting some for summer this year too. Those colours would be sure to brighten up everyone's day!

ReplyDeleteLynn, You've made a very colorful and very pretty bouquet. I like your quilt too!

Such gorgeous colors. I bought some orange plants at the garden center this year. Maybe I should have bought seeds and grown my own. Maybe next year.
ReplyDeleteEvery summer when I see all the beautiful zinnias I say next year I better get some. Still no zinnias! They look super on the quilt topper. Jean
ReplyDeleteI'm popping over from Bloomin' Tuesday--finally I'm getting around to visiting everyone! Your zinnias are lovely; I always say I'm going to plant some for cut flowers. It sure seems like they are good ones for the table centerpiece.
