Hi everyone, I do love pretty shiny things and found a couple beauties at the Salvation Army on Saturday!
79¢ for the square one, 59¢ for the oval one (great scrolled handles).
Love these shots with the sun and shadows!
Love these shots with the sun and shadows!
If you've been to my blog before you might think the square one looks familiar...
But nope, it's totally different.
See, the one I had was round, I just picked up the square one to match.
Have a happy day:@)
I'm joining:
Hallelujah, sister!
ReplyDeletehallelujah sister! I so so so wish I had a Salvation Army closer to me!!!! Nice dishes!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I'm so behind in visiting my favorite blogs and posting at Frog Hollow Farm. Your finds are just great - are they small enough to use as appetizer or first course dishes for a meal? I've been using my clear depression glass set a lot recently - it adds sparkle to the table without adding a clashing color. Hallelujah sister!
ReplyDeleteThey do look great together. And so the same pattern.
ReplyDeleteI have a dozen of those square ones (some from my grandmother and the rest from an elderly friend) and use them a lot--salads, desserts, to display "stuff". I like that yours are mismatched. As my husband would ask: "What do you plan to do with them"?
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
LOVE your thrifty finds....and I ADORE your Spring pictures! We had a glorious day here in Missouri yesterday.....how great to feel the warmth and see the sun! Hope your week is a grand one! dana
ReplyDeleteHallelujah sister! Gotta love pretties for less than a dollar.
ReplyDeleteDon't you love it when you find something that matches? Pretty! Happy week!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteLove your pretties! The last picture is just gorgeous! I wish that I could find great things like this at my SA!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to find a matching piece at the thrift store. The set looks great! Three or more is a collection and I think you have a very pretty collection on your hands.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

Don't you just love it when you get a good bargain...and when you love what you bought? Your purchases are very pretty and will have so many uses!
ReplyDeleteI can never seem to get enough of clear glass dishes like these. So pretty and you can use them for so many things. You get a Hallelujah from me for sure on the prices! Great finds. hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteGreat finds and good prices! They both bring back childhood memories at grandma's house. The square one had candy in it and I can still see the black olives in the oval one...Have a great Monday.
ReplyDeleteWhat great pieces. I have never thought to go to the Salvation Army. I am going to have to find one near me.
ReplyDeleteHallelujah, sister! Great finds!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring!
Nancy
Hi Lynn!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds, Honey!!! I have 2 of that same oval nut dish with the scroll handles! One was my mother's & one I found recently. I've seen them on sale for anywhere from $6-$10 so you got a nice bargain.
I like to use mine for olives & pickles or lemon slices. They're the perfect size for little mints, too.
I really like the ruffles edges on the others you have. Nice score!!!
I have a square one just like that. My oval one is not near as pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love to put pickled beets in the square one and Mom's bread & butter pickles in the oval one. They make a pretty table.
Hallelujah, sister! Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds, Lynn. They are beautiful!...Christine
ReplyDeleteI love poking around in antique stores! Great find.
ReplyDeleteI have the ruffled one! I remember buying it for my mom at Woolworths when I was 10! So you got an antique! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, that square one is just fabulous and all three together truly deserve a hallelujah chorus...... did you hear me singing? I absolutely love the photo with the light streaming through. I am just not a good junker. Everything I see really is junk! It must be a skill, or you just have great stores (meaning people are giving away great stuff) where you live!
ReplyDeleteLove junkin'! You got some great finds! Too much fun! Pam N.
ReplyDeleteOh Yeah, Sister! You did 'Real Good' with those SA Finds. Love that glass stuff and that pattern with the ruffled edge. Can't wait to see what yummy goodies you put in them!
ReplyDeleteI so wish we had a GW in my town. Those are just great items at a great price! Joni
ReplyDeleteFabulous treasures!!!
ReplyDeleteXoxo

I LOVE me some piggies...LOL Then I was scrolling down and saw a picture of a piggie dish with a caption of hoagie dip and I thought...wow an east coaster cause us east coasters have hoagies not subs! Can't wait to check out your blog further. You wouldn't happen to be a Phillies fan too?? (hoping, praying, wishing..)
ReplyDeleteWell upon further digging I see that you are North of Philly! Hello neighbor...I am South of Philly!
ReplyDeleteSaw your link on costal Charm and had to stop in. I love that glass. I have some old glass plates and they are very special to me. They add so much charm to the table when I use them.

ReplyDeleteYour oval one is very cute. And heck you had to buy the square one when you had a mtching one at home!
ReplyDeleteI have a square one that belonged to my Grandmother. I use it for nuts, candies, etc. I never thought about using it for salads or desserts. Now I'll have to hunt for more! Congrats on your finds!
