Melonstein???

Hi everyone! The watermelon's were marked down so I thought I'd get one for dinner on Sunday.
I scooped out the fruit and had a little fun.

My "before" for Met Monday:

I was aiming for Frankenstein... kinda looks more like a football player.
Actually, with the flat top hair cut and bloodshot eyes it looks like an old boyfriend...
but that's a story for another time:@)

I do think the way it glows red is kinda neat though!

  9. Your melonstein is very creative. I once carved out a baby carriage for a baby shower from a long water melon - turned out pretty good.
I'd give anything to see those pigs at the top dancing across the screen some time. :-)

Cute melon!! I love your stained glass!! I used to do stained glass many years ago, but it wasn't the most kid-friendly hobby! Maybe I'll get back to it again. My favorite of yours is "Sea Glass."

  35. Good morning! Thanks for stopping by my post about the sewing box gift - it really is a sweet little piece of furniture. This idea for the watermelon is just so creative - you must always be thinking when you're out and about - very impressive! The old boyfriend comment was a hoot! I'm going to check out your last post's recipe for soup - it is definitely soup weather. Our favorite is Ina Garten's Wedding Soup recipe. Just so yummy - Ciao, bella!

  40. Hahaha! That is too cute! I never would have thought of doing that with fruit. I think instead of getting my students candy on halloween I'll make one of these and give them fruit...thankfully they like fruit almost more than candy.
