Well, it wasn't easy... but I managed to come up with some red, white and blue flowers from the yard for my little centerpiece!
We need rain badly here in Philly! Ma gave me a clump of the little daisies years ago, I really enjoy them and they do last in the yard for quite a long time, especially for perennials. Bachelor buttons seem to offer the closest "true" blue of any flower, and a few geranium clippings round out the red, white and blue!
I'll be joining the following parties, please stop over to see what everyone else is talking about!
Centerpiece Wednesday

Your centerpiece is sweet. Only blue blooming in our yard is the plumbago. I need to plant some bachelor buttons. Like you say, it's the perfect color! My geraniums aren't blooming much at the moment. They don't like the heat. Happy Blue Monday! ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteLove your cute arrangement. I use lots of daisies too and geranium...no buttons. I wonder if they grow in my area, are they hardy? They are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThose bachelor buttons are the absolute cutest flowers. I wish I could grow them here. I just love them, and I really love your whole arrangement. I prefer arrangements from the yard, and you did a super job with that. Hope you had a great Fourth!

Morning girl...love the flowers especially the bachelor buttons...I haven't seen those in years...when I was a little girl we lived next door to the sweetest little lady...she was like a grandmother to me and she had flowers everywhere in her yard but right outside her hedge fence was a huge clump of bachelor buttons that grew in the ditch..ohhhh I loved her and those flowers!!!! Thanks for bringing back that sweet memory....hope you have a great week! ~Picket~

ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my back yard post. I got a couple of those chairs when our next door neighbors moved out of the country over 20 years ago. I'm glad I did. One of them broke a few years ago, and my husband had it by the trash, but I drug it over to my compost area.
Thanks so much for stopping by and introducing yourself and your adorable blog! LOVE the title :) Your recipes look delicious! New follower :)
