Hi Everyone! I took these pictures on a day of very heavy rain in Philly, so the light did not cooperate with the spirit of this post, but I hope you like them! I'm joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.
Ever fall in love with the print of a fabric? Well, that's what happened when I saw this one. I found it at the Salvation Army for $2.99. I walked past, then backed up...
It's so colorful I couldn't wait to put it on the table! The covered rooster dish is a hand-me-down from my Aunt Dot, she is 96, still lives by herself and bakes every weekend for family functions - thanks Aunt Dot!
How often does your meal match the color of your tablecloth? I made a Chicken Vegetable Soup and had to add the picture...
Here's a secret... this great fabric is actually a curtain - Love it on the table! Thanks for stopping by, and Earl says "have a great day!".

I love the way colors were used in the 70s. Love you rooster. I have an Aunt Dot also and she is a hoot.
ReplyDeleteWow! How amazing that your food matches the tablescape! What a cute little piggie on the bowl!
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic is that tablecloth, uhm curtain! I love it. And that bowl of soup looks like it was meant to be. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteHow clever! Just goes to show you that we need to keep our eyes open and see things in different ways. How sweet you have your aunts rooster.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Joanne

Loved your retro post and the rooster is adorable. I'd love some of that soup too! Happy Thursday to you!
ReplyDeleteI think the Brady's (Brady Bunch) are coming in your door right now!! LOL
ReplyDeleteReally cool, I love the originality of a period table and you did it right all the way down to the fabric. So cute.
Win Rachael Ray bake ware at my blog.
Thanks!
Sherry
Nice! I like these colors as well and am also a thrift store junkie! I have some amber glasses and some older plates that would fit right in this setting! I've recently discovered Tablescape Thursdays and plan to start posting my own soon. Thank you for sharing!
