It's fresh asparagus season-Woo-Hoo!!! I mentioned that I picked up a bottle of Badia Complete Seasoning at Dollar Tree, and do see bottles at Walmart and other stores too. I needed a quick after work munchie and this Asparagus with a hint of Cumin sounded like a good idea, and I'm confident it would be amazing on the grill too... The key to making this really special is, use some of the seasoning to flavor the asparagus before cooking, but ~then~ give it a light shake before serving. Use it instead of S&P, it's really good folks! I may have run my finger through the juices left on the plate... May have:@)
Everyone has their own vegetable tenderness preference...
Like them crisper? Cook for less time or use thicker spears.
Like them softer? Cook longer or use thinner spears.
Sometimes you have to experiment to find what works best for your crowd.
Oven Roasted Asparagus with a hint of Cumin
For approximately every 10 stalks of 1/2" thick asparagus (don't need to be exact here):
- Wash and dry asparagus well.
- Bend and break at natural point, discard ends. Then cut remaining spears in half (or snap in half).
- Place on baking tray, drizzle with olive oil and use hands to coat spears well. (I used a disposable aluminum pan.)
- Sprinkle with heaping 1/4 tsp Badia Sazon Completa, mix to coat. Spread out as much as possible.
- Roast in 450 degree oven 6 minutes. Remove from oven and stir.
- Roast for another 3 minutes or until desired doneness.
- Give sprinkle of Badia seasoning before serving.
Eat well and have a happy day:@)
