How cute are my zucchini? Love the little stripes, my plants have produced a solid dark green zuke for the last few years. This is what was labeled as "zucchini" at the garden center this year.
I know, I'm tickled by zucchini here... but it's the beginning of June, they are still cute,
come the middle of July and I'll be saying "What the H... heck, am I going to do with all this zucchini??!?!!"
I'm joining Fertilizer Friday please stop over to see what everyone else is talking about.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
Aaaawwww!!! Well, you can saute and eat the flowers, they are wonderful and very healthy too...so get 'em while they're fresh, and you'll have less zucchini and more gourmet treats!
ReplyDeleteI love your zucchini, they make such good bread and roast in the oven in tons of garlic olive oil!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your visit to my blog today and your sweet words!

Enjoy your zucchini! We are enjoying our spinach and waiting on everything else (vegetables). It's easy to get impatient for home-grown vegis this time of year.
ReplyDeleteLove zucchini! So many things that you can do with it. Zucchini bread, minestrone soup and I got an awesome recipe for zucchini as a veggie side dish. Let me know if you would like it. My kids love it! In fact, everyone who has tried it loves it. What is not to love though zucchini and fontina cheese. Yumm!
ReplyDeleteIndeed you have a friend.. I love the small zucchini in salads and stirfry
ReplyDeleteIndeed it might not be as friendly as when first you met...he seems to get bigger and what do you do with him then?
Enjoy
How precious are they, so cute!! Can you eat the flower? I know some flowers you can put in salads.
ReplyDeleteDon't you love when your garden starts to bloom? I always get so excited. And zucchini is a PROLIFIC veggie! I can't wait to see what you are going to do with all of it!
ReplyDeleteThese little zukes look adorable! I love the stripe!

Ha! Ha! Last year we tried to grow some zucchini and I was so looking forward to some - but our crop never materialized - dang bugs, rabbits, etc. But I remember feeling exactly like you do right now. Anxious and wondering why.
ReplyDeleteFunny how many friends we lose when we are trying to share the bounty of zucchini from our gardens. It is like we are offering them locusts. Lol.
ReplyDeleteWhat darling little baby zucchinis! Be proud but don't get too attached! You'll be eating them soon! :)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
We just planted today. Your little green guys are just happy to have room to grow and you can roll with them! Enjoy them tender and raw.
