I wanted to share my centerpiece for Tablescape Thursday and I'm also joining Coloradolady for Vintage Thingies Thursday for the first time.
I was tickled with the way it turned out.
I used two of my Fenton Silvercrest footed bowls,
added some oasis to the bottom bowl and then just cut and arranged the flowers.
I recently won this vintage tablecloth on ebay and it was the inspiration for my centerpiece.
I thought this was a fun different look for a Mother's Day meal.
Oh, and the centerpiece smelled really good too!

Your ideas turned oout a very pretty table setting. You did a great job.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! And then, .... did you eat the pineapple? (I'm getting a craving!)
ReplyDeleteDo you know why pineapples are a symbol of hospitality? I learned why in a tour of the House of the Seven Gables in Salem, MA. When sea captains came home, they would have fruit from foreign ports (i.e. pineapples). They would hollow one out and stick it on the post by their front gate. This meant that A) they were home, and, B) there would probably be a ball or a party in the next few days and that was like the invitation. I thought that was so cool. Hope you don't mind me sharing all that....
Anywaaaaaaaaay, I love your centerpiece and hope that you had a lovely day, too. Thank you, thank you for all of your comments on my blog. It means a lot.
Love, Katy Noelle

ReplyDeleteWhat a great centerpiece!Well-to-do Victorians used to like to use pineapples in their centerpieces since it was a relatively difficult fruit to come by in the 19th century and it showed off a family's prosperity to have one!

What a creative idea. I like pineapples as a sympol in any material. A natural one makes a great centerpiece. And what you did with the flowers and the glasses is just extraordinary. The result of the combination of centerpiece and tablecloth is gorgeously. You got the shades so perfect. Very elegant with the white plates.
