My inspiration:
Tomato Glazed Italian Green Beans with Bacon
30-38 oz canned green beans, drained well2 slices bacon, cut into small pieces
small onion, sliced
1 Tblsp A/P flour
15 oz can diced tomatoes, with juice
2 Tblsp brown sugar
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
few hearty grinds of black pepper
- Cook bacon, remove from pan. I left mine in the pan here.
- Cook onion in bacon fat. Sprinkle flour over bacon fat, stir and cook for a minute.
- Add can of tomatoes with juice. Stir and scrape browned bacon bits off of bottom of pan.
- Add everything else.
- Cook for a couple minutes until sauce has thickened.
- Sprinkle top with bacon (if you didn't leave it in the pan).
Eat well and have a happy day:@)
