Easter Bunny Egg Holder-Tutorial

Hi everyone! I know Easter is late this year, but it's never too early to get started on some crafts for it. Especially such a cute one! Kids love these and you can fill the egg with whatever you'd like.

I found this little bunny made out of plastic canvas at a craft show years ago and I've made many. 

They do take time because of trimming the outer edges with yarn. 

I thought I'd try making them with foam, it worked great and is much quicker.

I added a duckling in 2012 and piggy in 2013.

You'll need:

Foam in your choice of colors, 10MM wiggle eyes, 1/2" white poms (or bigger), smaller pink poms 

and something for whiskers, I use quilting thread. Glue that works with foam, I use a hot glue gun.

If you're making several you'll want to make some templates out of cardboard, the sizes are:

1 1/4" x 7 3/4" for the body-cut 1

1 1/4" x 5 1/2" for the head and ears-cut 2

1 1/4" x 4" for the feet-cut 1

After you cut out all of the pieces cut the ears and feet in half lengthwise.

For each piece except the body, run a bead of hot glue close to the skinny end and glue the piece together:

You'll want to use a little more glue for the body. If you wrap it around the egg you should see that about 1/2" of foam will overlap, use enough glue to hold the overlap together.

Insert the egg and glue the feet to the underside of the body.

Glue the head to the top of the body and the ears to the top of the head.

Add eyes, whiskers, nose and don't forget to add...
