The winner is Mary of Sailing Simply!
My sincerest thanks to everyone that participated and left such nice comments:@)
I'm German and do love things that lean toward that heritage. I found this beautiful wooden spinning nativity and enjoy bringing it out every year! Three tiers, the wise men, the Holy Family, and a Shepard. Love the detail and the heat of the candles makes it turn.
Truthfully I've learned to use tea lights, they are not as messy!
One last pic of the Shepard, love the little sheep!
Ma gifted them to me for my birthday this year, they are very special to me and I love them-thanks Ma!
They stand about 9" tall, I haven't found a manger yet, but I have visions of that and a crystal star!
Ok folks, link up and let's have some fun:@)
Join the party for a chance to win an original piece of stained glass!

What a WONDERFUL party! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful nativities with us. I love your three-tiered German one--it's stunning!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun party! Thanks for this opportunity to share; and I'm a follower! Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteYour Nativitys are both wonderful. I havn't ever seen one of the tiered ones, it is just gorgeous. Beautiful displays. Thanks so much for joining the party. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn! Happy "Reason for the Season" party!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm enamored with your beautiful tiered nativity set. I've never seen one actually lit & moving.
I can't remember where I found my stable for my nativity set but check Michaels & Hobby Lobby for one. Mine has a spot for a low watt light bulb instead of a star. :/
Oh My! The little set you made is positively beautiful! I can almost see the slight irredescence? of it too. I love it! You made so many beautiful pieces too. I also love your wooden German piece as well. I am already a follower so please enter me again for your beautiful artwork. Thanks so much for such a wonderful party!
ReplyDeleteOoops, forgot to say "I'm a follower" but you knew that already, right? *wink*
ReplyDeleteBoth are so beautiful!

I have a little wooden spinner, too, one of my sons gave it to me for Christmas years ago. The spinner broke and we have it "sorta" repaired. Now, we mostly just look at it, mine has reindeer and is very delicately carved. Thanks for hosting this great party.
ReplyDeleteHi...I joined in for your party. What a wonderful idea....Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteLynn,
ReplyDeleteI love your German "tree" style nativity. It is lovely! I will come back tomorrow to comment on others, children off for snow and hogging internet connection.LOL
Sherry
Hi there! Thanks so much for hosting this linky and for the giveaway opportunity! I'm following your lovely blog now.
ReplyDeleteYep! I was that crazy lady on the road! LOL I was SO excited when she said that, seriously I thought she was joking at first I didn't believe her! I never even told her that I wanted it so it was so much more of a suprise.
ReplyDeleteI really want the Creche and the stars to go with it, maybe i will ask the hubby for that since I don't really have anything else to ask for, and then after that its just the animals and the shepherd and his flock so Im just about done, and aside from the creche the biggest most expensive pieces are taken care of so thats even better and I really didn't want to buy it myself, I wanted it to be a gift from someone so that whenever i got it out ever year i could think about them and how I got it instead of thinking about how I got it myself at the mall! LOL
Hi Lynn, your German tree is lovely and I guess I never understood how they worked until you explained. Thanks for hosting such a sweet party:-} ♥O

PS.... I'm joining the party today too! :-)
This is my favorite Christmas party so far. Thanks for having all of us and for such a lovely theme. It's such a treat to see so many beautiful nativities displayed. Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteHello Lynn,
ReplyDeleteHow amazing you are German. And you have one of those typical wooden spinning nativity. So cute. When I was child, I loved to see how the wheel is spinning. Memories! The nativity you made is really artwork. Love that you just choose no color. That gives them a certain glow somehow like a halo. Very pretty figurines. It is so generous that your MOM gave it to you but somehow it is also fair, not to give it some others. And it is true, the love we give, came back thousendfold.
Thank you for hosting this wonderful event. We have in winter many nativity exhibitions, I love to visit them and now I can have a look at nativities around the world. Thank you so much.
Greetings, Johanna
What a great response to your Nativity party, Lynn!!
ReplyDeleteI popped back in to ask that you come see my SNOW photos I just posted. You'll REALLY be glad they're mine & not yours!!! LOL
Hi Lynn,
ReplyDeleteI love this party! You have wonderful nativities! I love nativities with memories. Thanks for hosting and I have joined you as well.
Christmas blessings,
Sandi
I love the spinning nativity! I have one handed down to me from my aunt. When my boys were just babies, she would light it and hold them to watch it. As she got older, she felt they should have it. It is very messy and I don't bring it out very often. Now I think I need to do so!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting this wonderful party. We truly need a reminder as to what CHRISTmas is all about!
Thank you for hosting this special party. I am new to your blog. When I saw the party, I knew I HAD to join. Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying...2x the picture is wrong...please delete these...I'll try again...
ReplyDeleteOh!!! Now I like that! You feel a star is a nice touch too!!! (See my post, to understand this!) Love your wooden-spinning nativity! I have never seen one like it!.. And your ceramic set is beautiful! I WISH I could still get together with other girls in a ceramics class that I once was in long ago. Other things in life took me on a detour of sorts... but I really enjoyed it, and miss it! Thanks for hosting this lovely event, and Happy Holidays to you, Lynn! ~tina
ReplyDeleteHi, Thanks for hosting , I love both of your Nativities! My paternal grandfather came from Germany to America when he was a teenager .

ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, I too love the wooden German set. I used to have one like that. I gave it to one of my children who loved it too. The white nativity is beautiful. I know your mom treasured it and now it is yours to enjoy. I have been giving things to my children too. There comes a time when we just have too many things. Smile.
