The best tools for this job are a big bowl and clean hands, so get the kids involved!
After you pour the candy on the popcorn wait a couple seconds
and test it to make sure it's not too hot for them to touch.

Peppermint Popcorn-from Taste of Home
I made 1/3 batch and I'll add my measurements in italics.
1lb white candy melts-chopped - 5.3oz candy melts, 55 pieces
24 C popped popcorn - 8 C popcorn, 1/3 C unpopped using hot air popper
1/2 to 3/4 C finely crushed candy canes-approx 4-6 - I used 2 candy canes
- Melt candy melts in the microwave, stirring occasionally until smooth.
- Pour candy melts over popcorn and sprinkle with crushed candy canes in large bowl, mix well and pour onto a wax paper lined cookie sheet.
- Once set break apart and store in an airtight container.
I highly recommend trying this folks, the only problem... It's very addicting!
Have a happy day:@)

ReplyDeleteHi Earl,
ReplyDeletecute idea to make peppermint pop corn. The candy sticks pieces add a yummy color to the pop corn and probably a wonderful flavour. Thanks for sharing this great idea.

It sounds delightful, Lynn! I love peppermint and I love popcorn--never tried them togehter but I will now! ;)
ReplyDeleteI must confess, Lynn, that I've stayed away from your blog for a bit because you make the most mouth-watering goodies, and I'm on a very "goodie restrictive" diet right now. Sigh! But, I am getting better about being able to look, appreciate, and not touch those things I'm not supposed to have which means I will be able to start browsing, commenting and enjoying your lovely blog!
ReplyDeleteThis popcorn looks like something my "Grands" would totally relish at our Christmas Eve family party, so the recipe is definitely going on the meal plan for then. Thanks so much for sharing!
